If I remember correctly from the novel, he goes before. And they separate before meeting up again. The novel ends with them meeting up again but the extras had the marriage, their child and their life during marriage (a bit of it). But thats if I remember correctly.

I think a lot of people were.. and it was hyped so much as well... But I couldnt get into Yang mi's portrayal either. It seemed overly stiff and yes I get it, the anime was similar but it works for an anime character but not a drama.... I do really like Gong Jun, I think he did his best for what he had. Sigh.... I think I will wait for the entire drama to be finished before I watch the Shi Shi one especially because it might also be BE. :(

EXACTLY.. but thats what some people commented in weibo when asked about the modern scenes.. make sense? No for sure.. but then again.. a lot of things didnt make sense at all. I watched the end because i wanted to know if it will connect to the other 2 upcoming ones.. and no I was left going "Huh"... but maybe its just me.. and honestly I was not invested in the drama after a while..

someone mentioned the modern scenes were for a commercial but who knows.. sigh.. such a pity. The modern scene would have made more sense. I don't get the ending at all... the young susu and the couple in the end.. made me go "huh"? Or maybe its just me not getting it

You are quite spot on without reading the novel! You can be the scriptwriter already babe! But I don't know if the drama would bring in the previous daughter as well... it doesnt seem to be indicating anything on that front but we shall find out

He is good... and might just get even better.. Ok Mama Yu gets to me sometimes but he does have a decent eye and he often knows what the audience is looking for so .. I have to give it to him :) He also knows how to stir up the views for sure!

Yes the novel was decently long but the extras are very good because it was about JL and Duke Su (after marriage) and I want to see that... not the rushed ending :) but knowing c drama... AISH...

Omg you are right.. no wonder it looked damn strange... I was just pondering how the stepmother downfall arc and the princess and Prince Cheng arc got all tangled together,... thats not very good.. its a bit messy to tie them together :(

Hmm did i remember correctly, they seem to be combining the step mother's downfall and King Chen Plus the princess altogether..... whilst the novel treated them as separate arcs?

Agree.... I just want the extras in the ending (like they did for Legend of Shen Li.) Not just end it at the end of the novel! Plus the bringing down of everyone... seems to not be able to fit into everything so I bet they will cut down some stuff for sure!
