im still tryna binge through kunning palace so can someone lmk why the rating is 8.3? it's definitely not low but im curious if some factor made the rating that way
unpopular opinion but i really like this show despite its low rating. i still feel excitement every rewatch and i think the acting's great. i respect that people detest the pacing and how different the drama plot is from that of the story, yet idk why it appeals more to me than some higher rated dramas.
I noticed the photos were uploaded dating back to 2019. It's already 2023. I'm wondering when this drama would…
there are often netizen speculations about when a drama is fully filmed and edited on weibo, however a wait time of 6 months can extend to three years because of strict censorship (ex. Oath of Love) even if a drama has been fully filmed it can have random episodes deemed "inappropriate" according to policy removed or have the show cancelled
most cdramas have subs for the characters, only liuyuning has og voice in the main cast
no, unless it's for international marketing, then they get designated va translators. i assume the dubbing industry in china is booming simply bc 99% of dramas are based off of fan-loved novels. c-nets would be outraged if a manly general was voiced by a 小鲜肉 ("little fresh meat" meaning a young male actor with soft energy)

the reason for dubbing is because the character's expected voice can't be matched by the actor/actress' real voice. dilireba is considered to have "奶音“ which means her voice has a "creamy" vibe and cant match a brave heroine. it's possible she has been able to develop a more diverse vocal range, however lack of original dubbing can also be due to a celeb's busy schedule. hope this helps! the whole concept is foreign to many other countries so it is understandably confusing and odd
I thought i was the only one disliking the make up. Even Simon Gong and Liu Yuning doesn't look as good as usual.…
they often do this in so called "idol dramas" (popular term on weibo), if it's marketed to benefit off two popular actors and their chemistry way more than the main story, more natural make up and historically accurate costumes makes a huge difference
im curious which side characters' scenes you found pointless, imo many complaints were about the pacing being…
it is quite different from the novel, her evil reign ends quicker in the drama. every time a drama title includes "legend of" or "传“ you know itll focus on that character. we get more of diziyuan pov bc even in romance dramas, one lead inevitably gets more screentime bc they are the main character. dramatic irony typically applies to a few characters and not all, there is no surprise factor if even all of hanye's scheming is revealed. i can see why fake dzy was a peeve for many viewers, she was for me too, but iirc her screentime dwindled quickly after she received the crown prince title. literally after dzy exposed her she fell into depression and that immediately started skipping off into the sunrise with the bodyguard cause he gave her a pep talk. her involvement in the plot is a parallel of luomingxi's ruthless and controlling methods of revenge and anle's views of humanity, ultimately letting the beggar girl live life in freedom. she may have an annoying character but all dramas have a "subvillain" before the final villain appears. she caused petty court drama while lengbei is literally the nation's enemy. common drama occurrence.

i think those scenes were to emphasize the pain of linlang's death, how she was always by his side aiding his plots while his eyes were always on ziyuan. luo mingxi can only obtain the audience's pity if they see his continuous concern and care for ziyuan. for the main revenge plot these scenes are irrelevant, but i believe it brought more importance to their individual character plots. all dramas are like this; main plot focuses on the leads, side character scenes only further audience sympathy for them. luomingxi and linlang were examples of painful unrequited love.
its worth the watch 100%, i think its on par with most dramas rated 8.5, low ratings are due to pacing, just sit through it and enjoy every moment instead of rushing ahead for max enjoyment
Lovely ending. She looks better with black hair. If not for so many pointless scenes about side characters doing…
im curious which side characters' scenes you found pointless, imo many complaints were about the pacing being too slow for a revenge drama instead of being ab side characters
