I'm still on Episode 8, about 22 minutes in. What's the deal with that man and princ Li?πHis reasons are so…
imo they kind of treat him like a puppet as if they donβt want the empress dowager to see him as a threat, but heβs still kept alive so it assuming he has some power they vie for their plan
havent read novel and ik plot differs from og story, but i hope ye ying has a change of character. she seems to be the type to cause petty trouble but not be a true villain iykwim π€
Why does MDL say 21 episodes while Netflix has 34 episodes? Just stumbled upon this show based on Netflix recommendations…
a lot of old dramas are cut/aired differently across different platforms, the same happened with mars where the og tv network had longer episodes but less total episodes
planning on trying this when it's done airing, can anyone give me their first impression, good or bad? ik not to trust the ratings nowadays bc everything starts out under 8 stars upon airing now π
finally finished, so glad the ending wraps up everything nicely by showing the aftermath of each of the seven cases!! felt like such a journey, but my fave case was def the one with the grandpa and the crazy mechanisms
can't believe it's over!! fave case is still the one about the wu family because it was so tragic how many woman were commodified for riches and discarded when labelled as "promiscuous". it was satisfying to see the grandpa get the bad guys down and watching LPY + XHJ walking through his mechanism plans. sooo thrilling that i need to let it marinate for a while and forget all the details so i can rewatch
This is pretty solid in terms of plot and acting, and it gets an 8.2 while another that is quite meh plot-wise…
MDL drama ratings have never been that representative of the full audience. Sometimes I watch a 8.6-8.7 drama, and it ends up being trash while my fav dramas end up way lower in ranking. Most criticisms ive seen have been about how there are too many "random suicides", which i kinda disagree with π
dailuwa + bailu reunion reminds me of moonlight mystique!! personally I prefer this drama bc I feel like case solving dramas move at a thrlilling pace, does anyone have any good detective drama recs?
i feel so bad for old xiao.. he saw his own daughter being broken by this extraction system so he broke it himself to save more peopleπ π π π
I think the romance develops so much more naturally when it's a subplot.. I wish more dramas did this bc usually the flirty scenes take away from my ability to enjoy the characters individually
