to be honest it's kind of an open-ending, so there's no "true" explanation but the most realistic one would be that jongwoo actually killed moonjo as well as the others. moonjo saw potential on making jongwoo go insane just like the others so that's why he says "you are the greatest masterpiece i've ever create", because he really success on making him "crazy" like all of them, when he end up killing moonjo and the others at the end. so basically moonjo awoke jongwoo's alter ego (his psycopath side) by triggering his PTSD time (during the army). and that's why we keep on seeing glimpses of moonjo on jongwoo's face in the end because despite moonjo being dead, he is still going to live through jongwoo, the "piece of work" he has created.
yes it's adapted from a manhwa and i don't know if it's going to be like that during the entire series (only 1 ep out atm) but since it's a thriller (focused on a serial killer) drama it will definitely be uncomfortable at some point, also i don't know if the daughter dies since i didn't read the manhwa
