Watched this for Riku (Makki) and finished everything in one sitting... And of course all my thoughts are about his character lol 😁 - The switch between his attitude in episode 1 was so amusing, I've probably rewatched that scene of him shouting at the Numata family 30 times already - At the end of episode 2, I thought a BL-ish storyline will suddenly start between him and Takeru lololol (I thought Takeru suddenly had a crush on him) - I didn't expect I'd get to hear Riku singing Seishun Amigo in this lifetime. I resubscribed to Netflix few weeks before the release of this drama and the first thing I did was to rewatch Nobuta wo Produce so Seishun Amigo is currently very fresh in my brain lol - I'm curious if Fumi has started liking him romantically... she suddenly starts acting cute around him, gets very comfortable to ride the motorbike very close to him... and the hand-holding scene is really touching for me... Or if not romantically, I wonder if she has started thinking of him as another younger brother, or a platonic friend?? I'm really curious about this...
Also, I've seen Riku up-close in person multiple times (attended some of his events) and he's really really pale so I'm wondering how they managed to make him look so tanned??? 😂 Is it just the Netflix filter??? 😂
I really like this drama (and this is coming from someone who rarely watches Korean dramas lol). The cinematography is very good and the leads have amazing chemistry (the characters have depth and angst that I really like). The atmosphere of the drama actually reminds me a lot of Utsukushii Kare (one of my most favorite dramas) so I was amazed when I learned that the director of this drama is also female and 34 years old, same with UtsuKare's director! I think I was lucky that I accidentally watched this first instead of the parent drama, because I don't think I'll love them this much if I watched the parent drama first haha!

I only watched "The Best Friend" this year (4 years late!!) and I was really amazed by Chen Mu's acting as Lin Xiao, it's like he was born to play that role. All his micro-expressions were on point and he's just so very endearing. It's such a shame that he doesn't have a lot of dramas, I want to see more of his acting... :(

Yaaay great to know!!! I also like Ting Feng! And it's true that there are some plot points that eventually got unresolved, or there seems to be some skips but I read that it's mostly due to low-budget that they were not able to film a lot of scenes they wanted to film... ^^; But overall, it was still a great watch and the characters and their dynamics are cute so enjoy~~!

I love Lin Xiao and Shao Nian together, they obviously like each other very much but Ming Hao is a mystery to me... Like some watchers have mentioned, it seems that he likes Lin Xiao instead of Ting Feng... I also think this way especially during the first few episodes, but I think he eventually realized that he has no place in Lin Xiao and Shao Nian's world of their own and soon gave up his feelings for Lin Xiao... But I'm still wondering if he ever did develop feelings for Ting Feng later on...
Anyway, I felt quite bad for him in some scenes, like when Lin Xiao forgot that he doesn't like milk, and then when he slept over at Lin Xiao's house, Lin Xiao didn't cover him with blanket (but he did with Shao Nian when it was Shao Nian who first slept on the sofa)... so I also wanted Ming Hao to have his own happy ending (but my fangirl heart will also be happy if he'll be forever in love with Lin Xiao haha, it's a dilemma)~~ 🥹
Also regarding the very last scene, my heart alsmost melted when I saw that Lin Xiao was still wearing the bracelet that Shao Nian gave!! But why did they have to pull an Untamed and not show Shao Nian's face AAAAAH----
But in my heart, I'm just so happy that they're finally together again!!! 🥹

The OST is also very good!!! I had the opportunity to watch this movie twice in Tokyo during its world premier in TIFF and I have to say I was completely moved (fortunately, there was an English subs already). It was quite confusing at first, shocking in the middle, but it wrapped the story beautifully in the end and I was really moved. All the actors did great as well, I feel like I've seen a never-before-seen acting from Riku and I'm super satisfied. I hope it gets to be released in many countries next year!
