Watching this series just made me think about life in general, about regret, love, loneliness, family, and everything. I sometimes need to prepare myself mentally before watching this every new ep because i will definitely be slapped with understanding of reality.

I will mis them too, this series is kind of lika 25 ji Akasaka which some people this type of show is not their cup of tea. But this is is def right in my alley. Love it from beginning to the end, i wish there will be s2 and a sign for me to read the manga

This is out of context tho, but tbh the plot kind of happens in real life, it happens in one of my friend workplace. So there's this one male worker who's already married to a woman and apparently he was caught cheating by his wife with another man who happens to be his coworker. Don't know the back story of it but when my friend told me this, i was like "what in the when it rains, it pours plot happen in your office?" My friend just laughed at it, it was kind of crazy

He did lie about he came from parallel world but the parallel world thing is true and he able to see those universes himself, that's where he got the idea about him and fu dating in other universes in order to get fu's trust.
Technically, he's not making up but more like making an excuse to fu, i hope that kind of make sense lol.
Fu at first kind of just go with the stuff up at first few eps and didn't believe the whole parallel world thing until the hospital eps. That's when fu realized that other Sara version do exist and Sara can easily telepored. Fu mad at Sara at ep 9 more because Sara lied to him, and fu already mentioned that he doesn't like when people lie to him.

At Extra eps (11 & 12), that's where fu can see the parallel world but as sideway in dreams (different from sara, who can travel as himself and able to stay there). By this Fu dream sequence, he was able to understand the based of Sara scenario and more sure that's there are different universes outside

The current version (the real version) of Sara has scars due to the accident in the 1st ep, but when he got the 2nd accident, the scar disappear because the current version Sara (the one with the scar) is being teleported and replaced by another version of Sara (the one with no scar) who doesn't know Fu. This is why the hospital scene at ep 8, he's cold and doesn't recognize Fu.

Then how suddenly Sara with scar came back to his own original universe? One person explain that every time Fu shows his raw emotions about Sara in that particular own original universe, it automatically kind of like 'called back' the real version of Sara to go back to his own original universe.

It's basically like alternate universe (kind of like doctor strange universe), Sara got this rare ability to travel and stay as himself in other universes unconsciously. Different from Fu, he's only able to see it as side in dreams about other universes but unable to stay, and it's also only a very rare moment. But Sara was able to travel and stay in other universes often as himself mostly unconsciously. Which can be dangerous if he doesn't know how to control his traveling abilities

I know it's kind of confusing at first but once you get puzzle, it's kind of interesting plot about a person with universe travel ability lol. Hope this helps ;)

I think the comments were not exactly like that but i once read one of them said that the drama is so slow, boring, and nothing happen so they decided to drop it (this comment i think was far down below). Understandable tho because this drama is not everyone cup of tea sometimes

Definitely can't wait too, i think some people don't like it because this moves very slow, but that's just how life sometimes, it's slow. Nothing dramatic happen like typical bl but again that's life, that just the way it goes. This bl is great for those who likes real-life bl drama with calm vibes but yet very relatable and very realistic.

This show may not be everyone cup of tea but this jbl just feels relatable, realistic, heavy. Eps 7 with azuma dialogue on how lonely he is and how he felt everything just feels useless sometimes just scares me how relatable that feelings is as an adult myself. Love this bl so much 🫶

Babe this show based on the anime ver., it's the part of the story and reason why people interested when first time seeing the announcement of the show

I agreed tho, but i think on bl that i have watch from many countries, i would dare to say that JBL is the one that i always sit down, not only for acting but the way they give the story and how realistic it's, perfect measure of intimacy and they always stays on genre they already plan. At the end if the day, it depends on they story

I think it's because they air live action BL on national tv broadcast, BL back in the day used to be only for limited access but now you can watch it for free on tv in japan. I mean imagine you watch a tv with ur grandma and suddenly The Shortest Distant is airing on national tv, not a great position lol. But i would say, their ability to broadcast in national tv is what made jbl nowadays not as wild as it used to be (there are still prob but usually are just AV/adult anime, and people don't really interest on those mostly, people love genuine romance jbl with good & balanced measure of intimate scenes i guess). But at the same time, jbl become more popular and it brings light to the lgbtq community in japan which is a win, not to mention a lot of actors able to arise to fame because acted in bl where they able to show their potential

This is very late respond, but basically He (kouhei) is in love with I (takuya), and He would do anything for I to reach his dream as a writer (including food, accomodation, etc) to the point He becomes sex worker to fulfill I's whatever needs and so that I never left He sides. Tho I thought at first that He just a regular bar worker and thankful for He's helps, but it turns out I found out that He in love with I, and i think I just feel weirded out and possibly experiencing internal homophobic, so I left He and never saw He again and ended up marrying She (prob to tame out his internal homophobia). By present, for his whole life after I left He, he always wondering 'what-if' scenario, what if he accepts He's love? What if I just don't afraid to step forward with He? All that stuff. Yet the ending, we never know what will happen, but certainly my suspicion that I become that guy from Brokeback Mountain, where he never present instead just wondering What-if all the time, even the wife She knows about the love between He and I. This is my interpretation, hope this helps

You're not the only one, i also enjoy this series too, it's funny, cute, sexy, sweet. It's such a fun to watch. I think it depends on the intention of why watching it, if we watching it fully for the comedy romance and for fun & entertainment, it will not disappoint but if we watching it purely because of the intimate scenes (understandable considering the original source the manga is purposely 21+), it will be disappointing

I sometimes think they're just intentionally make the intimate scenes just like the way it is because this series at the end of the day is comedy series, kind of making the intimate scenes as funny as possible because this is not AV series after all (different from the anime, it's purposely 21+). But i don't mind because this series is funny yet also cute. The actor who played the nerd guy, same like you, i almost thought he's the voice actor from the original anime because how he convey the character voice just insanely accurate (idk why he still haven't had mdl profile)

Nevertheless, still going to watch it. I think if we watching it fully for the comedy romance, it will not disappoint but if we watching it purely because of the intimate scenes, it will be disappointing. It depends on the intention of why watching it
