Hahahaha don't worry, I'm not mad at all! I like seeing hope in the stories I read so I definitely thought it was "happy" (bittersweet) ending. But I understand your interpretation too!

that only depends on how you interpret it! you can see it as an open-ending to foreshadow the fact that they will find each other again. to me, a tragic ending would be an ending where one of them is dead (or both are dead). and the extras are also part of the book, so i was taking the extras into consideration when i was saying it's a bittersweet ending. they do end up together but after a lot of sacrifices, so it's not really a "happy" ending either.
does anyone have recs for shows or books with a main character like sugiki (it can be gay or not)? a man obsessed with control and restraining himself and his feelings? i feel like i've seen this kind of characters a lot, but at the same time i just can't recall any character like that, and i CRAVE for romances with characters who are obsessed with controlling their emotions.
edit : wait actually it IS available but in very very low quality and i don't get why
