Blood is thicker than water

First time watching a drama based mainly on siblings and I must say that I really enjoy it surprisingly. Qiao Si Mei is definitely my favourite character here. Qiao Qi Qi is my second favourite and I must say that he deserved way more screen time.

Characters:
Qiao Zu Wang (the father)- Ok I really dislike his character as he was really selfish in the beginning but then he did become better in the middle when it came to Si Mei's love life problem. But then his character got worse in the later episodes until like the last episode when he called out his children's names.

Qiao Yi Cheng- Honestly, I really like him when it comes to him protecting his family but as a husband, I don't think so. He does have a few love interest and only the last one lasted. Honestly, his first wife was so uggghhh. I didn't like her at all and didn't get why Yi Cheng even married her?! But luckily his second wife was good enough so it wasn't that bad. Yi Cheng's character is really hardworking and kind to his family. But he doesn't like to beg people for things and get things done by himself without wanting the other person to know.

Qiao Er Chiang- I really like his character and that he and Si Mei are quite similar where both are willing to go over the extra mile just for their love ones. His bond with Si Mei is also really sweet and loving and I like how they were always helping each other up. He is a really honest man with a kind and good personality.

Qiao San Li- She is strong and smart. I love her relationship with Yi Ding and is really supportive of her husband. She is also really close with her brother and looks up to him (Yi Cheng). Mao Xiao Tong did a good job in portraying San Li.

Qiao Si Mei- My favourite in this show! Her strong will and belief when it comes to love can be touching for others. She is a very carefree child with a strong and stubborn character and loves getting into trouble. She can be mischievous at times and serious at other times. Her fashion sense is definitely on point and I love how she dresses up just for herself to see. Si Mei is one that has plenty of dreams and ended up quite successful since the beginning when she started working. However, her love life may not be as smooth but I'm glad she pulled through and went on with her life.

Qiao Qi Qi- I think he deserves way more screen time!! It's so unfair for Qi Qi as although the rest of the four siblings are really close and they all have a good relationship, somehow I just don't get how they could actually neglect Qi Qi so much. Luckily there was Wei Min (their cousin) who helped bring Qi Qi up otherwise it'll just be so sad. Like I get that the rest of the siblings were upset over their mother's death but Qi Qi shouldn't have been neglected by them even though their dad wanted to let their aunt raise Qi Qi up.

Overall, I really recommend everyone to give this show a try. TBH I came here just for Lareina Song Zu Er, but I ended up liking this very much. All the actors did a really good job as well.

A joy to watch yet heartbroken for some characters

One of the first dramas that I've watched in 2021 that made me cry so much!! Please don't let the reviews discourage you all from watching. I know not everyone may like this genre but it is a really good drama for me and I really enjoyed it. The main leads chemistry is really good in the drama and offset as well hehe :))

I know some people mentioned that Xia Chu's character is really annoying and that she is too naïve and unfit to be a doctor. I have to disagree as I think Xia Chu is what a normal resident doctor is in our everyday lives. Xia Chu's kindness and motivation to save her patients at any cost really lets others to admire her. Yes, she does have some flaws but after all she is still in the process of learning and is a resident doctor after all. I like how all the characters shows the audience how cruel reality can be. For example, Mi Gu (FL best friend) meets a man and falls in love at first sight. Despite after certain encounter and knowing his past relationship with the FL, Mi Gu still likes him and would do anything for him. Mi Gu's character tells us that some people just fall in love blindly. Although she does end up helping the police in the end which I thought it was a brave thing to do because many people may actually cover for someone's wrongdoings because of love in this world we live in today.

I really love the relationship between Tian Yong and Liang Shao Xue!! And like omg Tian Yong really didn't deserve that ending like whyyyy??!!! I cried so much during the last two episodes because of Shao Xue and Tian Yong.

As for Liang Mu Ze, I really like him and his personality. He is like that typical cold guy but if you get to really know him, he is actually really nice and is always making sure his family and friends are safe and happy. Johnny Huang really did a good job on portraying LMZ's character and I'm hoping to see more of his works in the future. (Still not over Addicted btw hehehe)

Overall, I recommend watching this drama. At least give it a try :) For me, the story gets better as the episodes go by and Xia Chu's character gets a bit development and at least she was quick to let go of her first love. There are a few couples in this show but only two couples ended up together at last.


Why I feel like the characters are similar to people in real life situations:
- LMZ and XC relationship gets on the wrong foot but it gets better over time when you really get to know each other more. (Relationships may improve after getting to understand one better)
- Xia Chu and Xiao Xiao forms a friendship after some minor rivalry. (There are actually some people that end up being friends in this world after going through some form of rivalry or competition due to misunderstandings or first impressions).
- Mi Gu being blindly in love. (A lot of people may be in love with someone blindly or have at least gone through that experience; especially first love)
- Rao Zhi and Shao Xue's father-daughter relationship in the initial episodes. (Not everyone has a good relationship with their parents)
- Xia Chu and her dad having a disagreement on who she can date. (Most parents just wants what best for their kids without thinking of their child's wants so it was understandable that they fought)
- LMZ and his team having a good relationship and would even die for one another in a mission. (Some friends are just closer with one another and they treat each other like family)
