TQ is not at young adult. He is late 20's, almost in his thirties. A scientist with a R&D team wouldn't be fresh out of college. JC was perfect. Tang Qi is in the same grade as SCC sister.

Lying to SCC in order to uncover her little white lies will only reinforces his biases towards her, and no doubt hurt him even more considering he's falling in love with her. It's like when someone you loved cheats on you, and you can't find the reason where you went wrong to deserve to be treated like that. TQ may not wish revenge, but it will ultimately, become the deal breaker.

On the preview, TQ is very sus of SCC. Even if he's not aware of his feelings, he is aware that he is being played for a fool, and TQ expression turned very dark. It's the beauty of Tan Jianci's subtle facial expressions that tells the whole story. If that isn't a dark TQ then I don't know what that is. 🤭

JC-T fans are actually really nice and uplifting. There are outliners and seasangs of course...I've encounter a few of them. But they don't represent the rest of the fandom.
But the criticism of SCC character has nothing to do with Li Landi's performance or her as a person. She has acted with Tan as a child star in two of Tan previous works, so his fans are very excited to see them reunited. They both have similar energy and makes everyone very happy. Heck, even thier smiles are the similar shapes. And it's freaking cute to hear her call Tan...Tan Ge.
Tang Qi of course had is fair share of criticism too. Fans of both are going to discuss thier realtionship dynamics, both positively and negatively. It's actually really healthy as it means that the creators of the drama are doing a good job, and Tan and Landi are nailing their roles to invite these strong emotions.
Other than the few people who has been aggressively downgrading the drama and calling it trash after one episode, everyone on this comment section has been great and the discussions has been really enjoyable.
Hmmmm...I'm passed the misunderstanding point now. Su Miao arc was misunderstanding that led to a prank that went to far. Fang Jin arc was an attempt to do good that led to a series of uncontrollable encounters. QST arc is just moving towards cruelty. Tang Qi worldview is breaking apart and I donk't now how SCC could ever make it up to him.
What really bothers me is SCC thinking TQ love and longing is a joke. Like he's supposed to forget everything at once...even though she suspects it, she so dense and hasn't concluded that it was her that contributed to his colorblindness.

She is well known to write complex themes and using idol dramas and novels structures to explore those themes. If you are looking for a no brainer drama, probably move along. Filter tackles women empowerment and worth by exploring societal ideals, pretty privilege, and concepts of filters (digital and psychological) through satire, slapstick and melodrama.
