Lost me with the ridiculous slapstick comedy in ep 7. Definitely not what I expected or am interested in.
I do love that they tried different kinds of comedy. The first arc pays tribute to Stephen Chow humor and satire. This current arc is very slapstick, has a little of Charlie Chaplin nonsense. I'm wondering what will happen in the third arc. I think in the fourth arc, we will enter melodrama territory, so I'm preparing tissues.
Episode 9 was the slowest of the episodes so far, but it was a bridge to the next arc with the introduction of…
Definately a good transition ep to the next arc. We're not talking much about the director but I think he's promising. I'm enjoying the cuts, pace, and camera work.
I have a questionWhy in every story if the ml loved the fl first and pursed her with fervor, readers or even some…
I think this is just a double-edged sword. Society expects a man to pursue a woman just enough for her to want him back, but not so much that he emasculates himself. Once he pursues too hard, he is labeled a creep or a simp because only women would supposedly waste time pursuing someone that hard and that long. It’s like a declaration of manliness if he can get a girl without trying too hard.
But society expects a woman to be the object of desire. By pursuing a man too hard, she is putting herself too much out there. Therefore, she is seen as wasting her time pursuing instead of being pursued.
I don't know. If you gave up after the first couple of episodes, then I don't think you get the drama, cause it…
I agree too. TH has some really deep themes in this drama: pretty privilege, nepotism, beauty standards, societal presures, catfishing and etc. The fact that there are three men trying to revolutionize beauty products in itself is a heavy disect. 🤭 Then added on top of that, low EQ, different perspectives, magical bracelets, exaggerated romantic comedy troupes.
If you gave up in the first 1-3 episodes, I think you are going to miss out on some character development, great comedy, and amazing acting. Storytelling is pretty solid right now. TH is very good at character and plot set up...it's when she has to close those character arcs that will be hard. But JC and Landi are really good, so I have high hopes.
