đŸ€Ł I was reading these unserious theories on tumblr that basically said that Park really only signed up for caretaker part of the job, that’s why he cooks, cleans and cuddles Chet so well. Park misses all the shots he takes either because his heart is not in the bodyguard/personal hitman duty portion of the job description, or he is playing 3d chess. Accumulating a body count the way Risa has does not bode well for long term survival, it will sooner or later come back to bite Chet in the ass, so Park doesn’t end up killing people but simply plays along to humour Chet.

But on a serious note, I think the narrative has intentionally not put any blood on Park’s or Chet’s hands (not counting the accidental death of the dad) because that leaves a path open for redemption. Park and Chet even left Wut alive, even though it would’ve been best for them to silence him as soon as they made him take the blame. This is the same reason why ultimately Pheem too doesnt have any direct deaths on his hands, the show will try to redeem him by the end.

So by the end, the two villains that are explicitly called out as villainous and shown to be murderers are the two women - Chet’s mom and Risa. Even though it’s the dad who is the root cause of all the suffering in the show. Another case of “evil BL women” đŸ«€

The rating of ep1 on IMDB is 4.5... Even tho I like it, at the same time I understand...

that a super high visibility series from top BL stars like this one gets rating bombed by anti-stans as part of idiotic BL fanwars. So true, I understand that too.

i know my 16 y.o me would have loved and obsessed over this. But after very long years of watching all diffrent…
Gmmtv is a teen focused company, which they have been from the beginning. They might have 1-2 more adultish shows per year, but that has never been their primary niche. So no, their focus has never changed, but some viewers create expectations in their own head and get disappointed when those are not satisfied.

Having said that, good scripts are scarce in Thai bl (and frankly JBl and KBL, what was the last show from those counties which had good script?) So it’s not a gmmtv specific issue, it’s an industry wide issue. Gmmtv is the most well known Thai BL producer, so people pay more attention to their stuff and accordingly criticise more, that’s all.

Pheem’s motivation being revenge is all good and fine, if that were truly the case, but it’s not. The script has failed to portray that. Him being dead set on achieving his goal even by hurting the person he loves is understandable if this is not primarily a romance story but a revenge narrative. But why is he only intent on taking revenge on Chet and his mom when the main problem is his dad? He sees how his dad doesn’t gaf about him and didn’t gaf about his mom, but instead of taking that man down, all he did was pander to him and aim to be his heir. And Pheem has softened on Chet too. Going by today’s flashback, there is probably going to be some sort of reconciliation. He doesn’t even hate Chet, Chet’s mom is dead by someone else’s hand, so what sort of revenge is this?

This series is not satisfying as a love story for the main couple, since their romance was only shown in flashbacks and Pheem straight up committed domestic violence on Than. It’s not even satisfying as revenge narrative since the main villain Pheem should’ve taken revenge on was their father and he was taken out accidentally. At this point this series just seems to be about Pheem’s greed to have the hospital for himself. That is much less compelling than love or revenge being the primary motivations đŸ«€

Entertaining af, I died laughing đŸ€Ł

The most visually appealing show ever. Not only are the leads the best looking BL couple ever, but the rest of the cast, the sets, the colour scheme, the decor, everything is amazing.

I love PondPhuwin and the last show from the director, Cherry Magic was fantastic. Have high hopes for this series, as long as the script doesn’t let it down.

What a dumb episode, it kept going in circles. Only good thing happened at the end, but it wasn’t set up well and it was too quick.

Yeah yeah, I know this is a lakorn so it’s supposed to be melodramatic, but it’s just nonsensical and repetitive, not even entertaining anymore. Lakorns were never my style so I knew this wasn’t going to be my fave show, but I was still watching for some tasty crumbs here and there. Now even that’s mostly gone, it’s just outlandish sequences now.

This is kind of a false equivalency. You have to compare Pheem’s treatment of Than to Chet’s treatment of…
You are dealing in hypotheticals while the rest of use are seeing what is actually happening in the show. Fact: Pheem has shot Than in the back in order to curry favor with his dad. Fact: Chet has protected Park while going against his dad.

You can create a thousand scenarios about how the characters might behave. This is a lakorn, so many of the outlandish scenarios might even play out. Hell, it might happen that in the very next episode Chet shoots Park. But as of now, people will base their opinions on what they are seeing the characters actually do, not create a hypothetical narrative in their head. If there were no moments between Chet and Park, there would be no one shipping them. Since there is some tenderness, people will react to that. If there is cruelty, people’s reaction will change accordingly. Pretty simple really.

It’s not at all hypocritical and the OP has very clearly explained why. In a fictional romance the primary and ultimate concern is the dynamic between the two characters in love. The morality of the characters outside of their romance is of secondary importance. Plenty of legendary romances have been written and portrayed between characters who are objectively morally bad people, yet the romances are memorable simply by the virtue of the couple dynamics. A very recent example in the BL world is Revenged Love. Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu are morally grey if not black, yet people were rooting like crazy for both their romances because their behavior towards their LIs were worthy of being rooted for.

Pheem shooting Than in the back, not even in any of the limbs so as to cause less injury, just to take control of the hospital is not a motive which is palatable with the notion of love. This is not a yandere motive, this is a self-centred motive. Park and esp Chet are objectively bad people, yet their behavior towards each other has never prioritised self-interest over the safety of the other.

Exactly!! the audacity to point out looks is astonishing Like I get everyone has their own opinions and beauty…
đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł dude you are the one who is so triggered by my comment from weeks ago that you are still venting in the comments. I was the one who stated my opinion about the MC being plain looking and you are the one who got offended. Is your brain melting out of your ears that you dont even realize what you are talking about?

Ya, I think team leader is end game and the other two get together, in a rivals to lovers trope.

The MC is not charming enough to justify having so many people into him
wish fulfillment self insert fantasy to the core.

Yeah
no. The MC is clearly the stand in for average looking people in their wish fulfilment fantasy. It’s great that some people enjoy being the average stand-in even in their fantasies, but that doesn’t change the conventional standards of beauty.

Fans of this series still coping from a mild throwaway comment made weeks ago! It really struck a nerve when someone’s personal opinion should have zero impact on their enjoyment of the show, but fans of this show are sensitive to the point that I’m now wondering what exactly is going on here.

Risa is a full serial killer now, with at least 2, and maybe 3 murders to her name. I don’t find her a likeable villain though, like Pheem said, she only gets others to do her dirty work.

I thought Pheem was going to go full yandere on Than with the “I will kill you before letting you leave me” trope and then lock him up somewhere, but he flaked out with the “fake death” trope. Toxic, obsessive characters are fun to watch, but Pheem is just obsessed with taking revenge on Chet/his mom, not with Than đŸ«€

Next episode/ I don’t think Chet is gonna be able to pull the trigger on Pheem. Than will come to save him of course and I assume they are all gonna team up against Risa and the dad.

As always, the crumbs of Park and Chet are the best thing about this show. The scene with Chet feeding Park! đŸ˜© And the bathroom scene with Park tenderly arranging the towels and putting toothpaste on both their toothbrushes! đŸ˜© Like you can actually feel how happy he is to be in a domestic routine with Chet. Those two are the real love story in this series.

Fact 1: this page is meant to discuss the series - the acting, production, direction, storyline etc. It’s not meant to speculate about the personal lives of actors. Your delusional fantasies have no place here, go let it out on wattpad.

Fact 2: whether or not two people are dating in real life have zero relevance on their chemistry together. In the history of acting, there have been numerous acting couples who had awesome chemistry onscreen but didn’t get along offscreen, conversely many real life couples performed awfully onscreen.

Fact 3: people have subjective tastes and you cannot browbeat them into liking what you like. Just because someone is liking a particular dynamic more than your faves, does not mean you need to try argue them into liking what you like. That’s being immature and whiny.

University series have always been popular among Thai domestic audience and will be popular in the foreseeable future. Gmmtv’s primary audience is not older international fans, but the domestic teen demographic. So yeah, university series will never go away because they are not made for you.

Should gmmtv produce more complex scripts? Sure, but university/school bls will always be their bread and butter because teen audiences enjoy seeing themselves represented. It’s not that hard to understand.

So many edits of Park and Chet on TikTok 😂 people were seeing the vision from the first couple of episodes itself, but the last episode breached containment lol

Pheem and Than called Park Chet’s lapdog, but at the moment, Chet treats his “lapdog” better than Pheem treats his bodyguard. Park is the only thing stopping Chet from losing it completely. The way Chet flung away Pheem’s hand when he grabbed Park’s face đŸ€

You don't feel fireworks for the chemistry of a real life couple??
What does any of this have to do with the show?? This page is about discussing the series, not about the relationship between the actors!! You sound insane and need to come back to reality. Idgaf about who is or is not dating irl, none of it has to do anything with the series. The fact that this even needs to be said proves how much this “shipping actors” nonsense has rotted y’all brains.
