no, people who were bitten by the zombies, who were resurrected directly from the plant, do not turn into zombies they just die. but, someone cooked a person who died from being bitten and it was fed to a few people. those people died and turned. then, they attacked other people and those who were bitten turned. it was mentioned in the 2nd season that the heat mutated the virus into turning others who were bitten as zombies.
