Just finished it! Hmmm... I think this drama had so much potential in the second half. Of course, since it's a romance drama, they also needed to balance it with the romance.

What I really liked was that both leads are not only good looking but can actually act. And I didn't realize CXX was that handsome when I watched Fall in Love years ago. 🫠 I guess Republican is really his genre because... wow, he's so handsomeeee.

I also loved how their relationship developed slowly. I'm a sucker for slow burn romances, and I really enjoyed watching both of them grow, especially her. Seeing her become more confident and improve in her dream job was so satisfying. Somehow, she even motivated me to start job hunting again after watching this.

What I didn't really like was how the drama became too sweet toward the end. I skipped quite a lot of the kissing scenes. To be fair, it makes sense since they had just gotten together. But personally, I think it would've been better if they balanced the romance with more projects where we could see their chemistry while working together and gets bigger with their co workers.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I tend to lose interest once a drama becomes overly sweet after the main couple gets together. I enjoy seeing them grow together through challenges more than just watching endless romantic moments. overall, the ost also good so solid 8/10 for me

Seeing her is like seeing myself struggling with my career. 😭 She has a degree in architecture, while I have one in engineering, yet neither of us ended up getting the jobs we originally dreamed of. It's honestly so exhausting.

And the fact that we both started our first jobs as assistants... like, UGHHH. 😭 I can see so much of myself in her.

The only difference is... she's eventually getting her CEO, while I'm still single, delusionally romantic, and waiting for my own happy ending. šŸ« šŸ˜‚

I hope she takes on more darker or serious roles instead of comedies. 😭 I really think that's where her acting shines the most. She was incredible in Bloody Romance and Royal Nirvana. I became a fan of hers after Bloody Romance because she was just that good.

I can't really get into her comedy dramas since light hearted and comedy genres aren't really my thing. I definitely prefer seeing her in emotionally heavy, complex roles. And I've been ranting about wanting to see more of her ever since I watched the trailer for The Noble. It looks really gooddd

Title The Noble
Damn, the trailer looks so good... 😭 I’ve always loved Li Yitong in these kinds of dramas. I think her acting really shines when she plays darker, more complex characters, like in Bloody Romance and Royal Nirvana. I guess she just enjoys doing comedies too, which isn't really my go to genre. And Cheng Xingxu is in it too?? This better be good... and please, air it asap!

How's the novel? Is it any good? Can anyone describe which drama has the closest vibe to it?

I'm not a fan of either of the leads, but I kinda like the teaser, and the acting looks really good too... Ughhh, when will it air? Next year?

I love her voice in historical drama so much and its wuxia martial arts too!
I’m actually happy to see someone like you who understands the difference between traffic actors and serious actors. A lot of people love to brag about their favourite actors winning awards, but many of those awards are based on fan voting. Meanwhile, some underrated actors like ZJM or Li Landi are often overlooked despite their talent. You’ll often see them sitting in the second row at award ceremonies, and I feel they don’t always get the level of respect they deserve simply because they don’t generate as much traffic or popularity as the biggest traffic stars.

Of course, some traffic actors are genuinely talented too. I think, for many of them, it's more about choosing stronger scripts and more challenging roles if they want to earn greater recognition from industry professionals and jury panels.

That’s one of the reasons I was so happy when Wang Anyu won a jury award for his first film. It was judged entirely by professionals, with no fan voting involved, which really showed that he’s a genuinely capable actor. Hopefully, this project will be another great one....I’m so excited to see these two acting together.

may i know what are her dramas that you never finish? im genuinely curious
It’s pretty normal to see people defending their favourite actors when their opinions don’t align with others. Some people might say, ā€œYou can just skip it if you’ve never finished her drama,ā€ or, ā€œIt simply means this drama isn’t for you.ā€

But personally, I think the way you commented here was completely fine, although I can understand why some of her fans might still get offended. It’s okay to share your opinions as long as you’re not being hateful, but people can get offended so easily these days, no matter how carefully you word things...

this is me with the ml i hate all his dramas idk why do i ever start them
Actually, I get your point. I’ve only watched two of his dramas... one I finished and loved, while I dropped the other simply because I just couldn’t connect with his acting. Like, I know he’s good, but for some reason, I just couldn’t get into it. I honestly don’t even know why...

Even though I enjoyed two of Yang Mi’s dramas before, none of her dramas after Legend of Fuyao have really caught my interest. I don’t really have a bias when it comes to actors. Having a favourite actor doesn’t mean I’ll automatically love everything they do. If the story looks interesting, why not give it a try? Even if I’m not a fan of the cast, I’ll still watch it if the drama itself catches my attention. Somehow, I can start a drama without really liking the actor and end up loving the drama as long as the story is good

No, I don’t mean to offend you at all because I’m genuinely curious. Of course, we’re all human with different genes, personalities, preferences, and some might like it and some don’t…. I completely agree with you on that.

I’ve only watched 2 of her dramas because those were the ones that really caught my interest. The rest just didn’t interest me enough. But seeing you try some of her dramas and then drop them made me curious about what kind of dramas you usually enjoy or what your go to genres are.

I know some people might take this negatively or get offended, but others can have a nice conversation about it and even share or recommend dramas and genres that they enjoy too. So I’m genuinely curious about your preferences but it’s okay then…..

I love her, her acting is so good. The way she acts with her eyes is just incredible, and I would love to see more of her. But now that she’s starting to take on more projects that aren’t idol dramas, I already know her future projects are going to be emotionally heavy.

Like, please… I love you, and I know these kinds of projects are great for your career, but I’m mentally tired. I’m tired of crying every time I watch her works. Hopefully, she’ll still take on an idol drama every once in a while.

But honestly, seeing her as an actress who has won awards judged by professional juries….not just popularity or fan voted awards like many awards these days, I can understand why it might become harder to see her in idol dramas. Hmmm… the struggles of being her fan. 🫠

Title Chasing Dreams Spoiler
The novel is a sad ending
I’m waiting for spoilers once it finishes airing. Sad endings usually aren’t worth all the tears and headaches for me... unless the ending is genuinely satisfying enough to make me accept it which is rare🫠

May I know what kind of dramas you usually enjoy and actually manage to finish? I can tell you’ve been trying to watch more of her projects but never actually manage to finish them, so I’m a little curious. Also, which actors/actresses do you personally think are really good?

Guysss, this is so good!!! 😭😭😭 This is honestly the first time I’ve watched a drama where I actually skipped the main couple’s romantic scenes. 😭 It was fine at the beginning, but then I got way too invested in the kids and started wanting more scenes of the leads with them instead. šŸ˜‚

And about Esther….I’m not her biggest fan, okay… But if she has a drama that catches my attention like this, I’ll watch it without hesitation. I really love her character in this one. She feels so mature, reliable, and dependable, and I hope she gets to play more characters with this kind of vibe in the future.

In terms of acting, I think everyone is doing a great job. The ost is pretty good too, and the story itself especially the kids’ storylines and the leads individually on how they both get attached to the kids despite their past is really done well.

This is an easy 8.5/10 for me. I honestly wish it was on Netflix so it could get more exposure and be easier for me to rewatch. 😭

i will say it's very refreshing and very diff drama compare to other romance c-drama, somehow it's really healing
I’ve watched until ep 6 so far, and I’m really enjoying this kind of show. As someone who isn’t a fan of either of them, I honestly didn’t expect to like it this much.

I’m actually more interested in seeing the interactions between the students and the FL rather than just focusing on the main couple. But I’m sure once all of them start building their bonds, more events and developments will slowly unfold even with the students

it’s a character driven story. Everyone has their share of emotional baggage and the drama does good job in…
I will 🫔 I’m on my way! These many good reviews are definitely encouraging me to watch it even more.

All the Chinese young drama actors here playing the Hongjing No8 High School football team boys are all very promising.…
Okayyyy… got it! I actually love it when the romance is balanced with the main story, especially when the plot also focuses on life, growth, or other meaningful aspects.

I don’t mind romance focused dramas either, but they shouldn’t be filled with too many unnecessary subplots that don’t add anything to the story. So I think your explanation is exactly what I’m looking for.

The reviews here are looking really good. šŸ‘€

I’ve watched one of CJK’s dramas before and it was his debut drama years ago but after that, none of his other projects really caught my interest. As for Esther, I’ve watched one of her older dramas, and the most recent one I tried was Speed and Love, but I ended up dropping it because I just couldn’t connect with the male lead’s acting.

I’m not really a fan of either of them, but I’m always open to watching something if I’m bored and the story seems interesting. The comments here are soooo positive, so now I’m tempted… šŸ¤” Should I give it a try? Might come back for another review once I started watching it

Okay, I've finally finished it... and honestly, it wasn't as confusing as I thought. šŸ˜‚ I was only confused…
That's the thing... once I found out who he really was, just looking into his eyes was already heartbreaking. 😭 He had completely lost the spark in them, and honestly, I could understand why he became so attached to the puppet Jialing.

I swear, every character in this drama has a tragic story, but Ji ling and Lu Wuyi absolutely broke me. šŸ’” Their stories were on another level. And their acting... wow. They conveyed so much emotion with just their eyes. They barely needed words, I could feel every bit of their pain.

He sure as hell loves seeing people suffer. I know I said I didn't think all those tears were worth it, but here I am... I can't stop yapping about this drama because it completely broke me emotionally

Okay, I've finally finished it... and honestly, it wasn't as confusing as I thought. šŸ˜‚ I was only confused…
The ending was actually much lighter than some of the core heartbreaking scenes earlier on, but damn... being such a sensitive person, I cry way too easily. 😭

I don't think all those tears were worth it for me because it honestly drained me way more than I expected. 🫠 But I'd still say it's a great drama. I was satisfied with the ending, just not with how emotionally devastating some of the scenes were. They completely drained the life out of me.

I know some people would say all those tears were worth it, and I totally get why. It's just that this isn't the kind of drama I usually look for. As someone who's a romance fan...whether it's wuxia, xianxia, or modern dramas, I usually mainly watch for the romance and always a HE. This drama portrays love in a much broader sense, not just romantic love but also sacrifice, responsibility, family, and devotion. And honestly, it did that beautifully. It's just not my usual cup of tea. šŸ« šŸ’”
