I think from the much better drama poster I saw elsewhere, the whole drama is going to be about who is Yesha.…
I don't think I saw that poster, but trailer wise I think the same. I think the yesha and haiya village case will be a lot more complex then it seems right now. That's my hope anyway.

I love how An Ju Heyong was just like a sensei in this episode (ep 9), just helping everybody out and everybody going to him for help when needed. Was really nice, to see him just mentoring and helping everybody.

I agree, I think most of the things she's done is fair enough. Maybe it's not how people would have liked her…
I agree she was damn near perfect in coroner's diary, especially for a teenager like she's meant to be. I love her character and the show though don't get me wrong. I agree, the ML dipped for 3 years. He could have left a message or told her what happened or that he's going to investigate. But for 3 years he just abandoned her right after her father's dies, she's left with nobody, you can imagine her pain. Meanwhile everyone is saying he's a killer and no one's defending him including himself. I would be angry and distrust him as well.

Title The Wanted Detective Spoiler
Haiya is a village, it's explained in ep 7. Someone massacred the village of haiya. Some say it was massacred…
I think its clean cut historical, what I think is its likely some poison or drug. Because I saw a scene in the trailer where it looks like the FL is poisoned and becomes a 'demon' and attacks and bits the neck of the ML. So I'm thinking likely some poison or something, with the whole demon story being made up. Also in ep 8 a dude named general huo is murdered. He was a soldier that was involved in haiya massacre and he's crazed apologizing and saying someone is coming for revenge before he dies. So it seems soldiers massacred haiya village, as for the reason not sure.

I feel like they did that in purpose though, like because he's the smart one she's the fighting one if that makes sense, like she's the muscle, otherwise he can do everything without her. But not saying I like it, I still definitely prefer them fighting together for sure.

Title The Wanted Detective Spoiler
Am I alone here because I'm not really feeling chemistry btwn the leads even when she apologized for poisoning…
Haiya is a village, it's explained in ep 7. Someone massacred the village of haiya. Some say it was massacred by demons known as Yesha. But that dude that killed pople is a survivor of haiya village and says that humans did it. He kills people after ML's return as they killed his wife and unborn child. H'e also seeking revenge for the massacre of haiya village. Yesha seems like many people, the survivors of Haiya village seeking revenge for the massacre. Theres a secret mystery leader though who ordered him to kill and spare ML. Don't know why yet. But seems to link back to what happened at haiya village. All the records are wiped by FL's father seemed involved. Also seems like the emperor wiped the records so maybe he's involved, but who knows right now.

Everyone: Who is Yesha?Peacock: Where is Beiming? 🔍
I can so see a bromance between these two happening. It's just gonna happen.

Honestly, the Haiya case and what really happened is pretty intriguing to me. Some people may disagree and thats fine, but I think the overall mystery of Yesha and really happened to the Haiya village, is pretty interesting. Like who's involved, who's getting revenge, what really happened, what's with the story of demons etc.

1 episode, only ep 16
No problem, you'll see the episode guide on MDL never reliable. Like some times it will skip days or the date will go backwards. Better to just search for the official air schedule, they normally release a day or two before the show airs then every week till it ends.

1 episode, only ep 16
No just one, there will never be 3 episodes in one day except for when the express package release. Otherwise will always be 1 or 2. You can check the airing schedule its in the recent discussions (https://mydramalist.com/discussions/35477-a-record-of-a-mortal-s-journey-to-immortality/143614-calendar-airing-schedule). Thats the link. Don't go by the episode guide in MDL they are always incorrect. Btw the air schedule is released every week, so tomorrow the air schedule for the next set of episodes will be released. But will likely follow the same pattern, most days 2 episodes, but a couple days 1 episode.

Just started but am not sure why the FL is getting so much hate here when the ML is the one who is arrogant, condescending…
I agree, I think most of the things she's done is fair enough. Maybe it's not how people would have liked her to act, but it's still reasonable. Accusing him on the boat, when everyone else is dead, a boat in the middle of the lake watched by everyone, and he's got the murder weapon. Of course she's emotional with no time to process what's happened she just reacted. She stabbed in 3 years later after he's been on the run, he looks super guilty on the run for 3 years. And like ML said, she didn't stab to kill, just a mix of emotion and wanting to subdue him. And of course the poison not her fault. Also it's worth noting, the FL grew up sheltered by her father and ML. Remember the scene in ep 1 where she said her father didn't want her investigating/getting in the way, she was always coddled by everyone and not allowed to investigate things (her own words). So obviously she grew up sheltered, and she's young, but people expecting her to be some perfect, calm and rational investigator all of a sudden. She's not the FL from coroner's diary, have to view her differently. She has her flaws no doubt, but I think most of what she's done is logical. Just my opinion though after all.

yeh honestly I was looking forward to some ML fight scenes and big fights etc. Kind of a waste if the whole time he can't fight at all.

Yeh pretty much vindicated, except I hope that Zhuge Kong secret investigation rival guy finds out soon he's not Yesha. And they kind of don't talk about the poison for ep 7 and 8, honestly would have just been better if it never happened.

I finished watching ep 7 just now. On to 8. In 7 they catch the guy who killed everyone since ML's return and he confesses to killing the people on the boat also. However, he is receiving orders from someone above, and he killed himself. So FL knows ML's is innocent and apologizes. But he's not cleared officially as the guy killed himself and they have no other evidence to convince people ML is truly innocent, so not vindicated officially. Also we are given some more info into the haiya case backstory, seems intriguing this haiya story won't lie.

Apparently, she had a lot more scenes added in that are different from the novel and donghua. People were unhappy…
I watched it on YouTube, just search a Mortal's journey, thats what the donghua's called. There are English subs thank god. And there's a videoswhere they put like 100 episodes into 1 big video makes it easier to watch.

Yeh definitely unusual, in the novel and donghua honestly FL is more a support role herself, barely in most of it. So I can understand if she was promised more scenes and a bigger role just for them to cut it, she would probably be quite angry. But would be nice for some official clarity definitely.

Yeh thats definitely annoying from her but I'm kind of just excusing that due to her being young and immature. But definitely annoying and hope it doesn't keep going for too long. They do start working together better in ep 6 and from previews of today's episode, seems like they work together even better, so hopefully no more of that from her but we'll see.

Not really no. When he returns, obviously upset about his mentors death, and wants to find the truth. But he's mostly his old self, just a bit more cautious and serious. But not really agonizing or have a lot of angst. After a short emotional reunion with FL where he tells her he's innocent and to pls trust him etc its kind of just straight back into investigative mode if that makes sense.
