Yeh I agree, was short thank god but definitely felt unnecessary, felt like it was a break up just to extend the time a little bit or introduce angst for no reason. Like some break ups make sense story wise and help the story along, but some are introduced just for angst or feels like to extend the episode count or just fill time.

Hahaha no I know what you mean, I think it's cause when you have a good ml and fl relationship, even if you skip the annoying others parts you still think how good it could be if they just gave us more ml and fl instead, the wasted opportunity

Yeh thats what I mean, and later he cools down for a bit but then when he hears hey are getting married does some stuff like that again, she rejects him then but wish it was a bit harsher, but still ml and fl have nice moments and you can see they like each other only and after he gets rejected he does stop like interfering which is nice.

100 percent doesn't seem that complicated, everyone else can figure it out, for sure lost a lot of revenue I was planning on re-upping my Youku subscription for this drama only for it not to be there, I feel like many people would have done the same

I really hope not, these are dramas with Yang yang and now XZ, both pretty major stars, I have no idea how they let this happen, surely not again with someone like XZ as the lead

Ah ok I missed those comments thanks for the info but yeh very sad, first time for me that a Youku big ip drama isn't on Youku international, like it happens with mangotv sometimes but as one of the three big platforms this felt quiet weird

Yeh I agree, I never saw the franchise people mentioned, but just quick research about BZ and also the amount of times Kaifeng prefecture was mentioned makes me intrigued about it. But yeh him and Bai yu ting definitely deserve a nice rest first haha

Yeh 100 percent, I feel like the trio as well is very suited for another season, would love to see bao Zheng or more of the Kaifeng people as well

Hahaha yeh it was pretty funny definitely was like a bts funny scene all bandaged up and I really liked how they went to see fl with their fake names that was a nice touch. I was about to say the same as well, the post credit scene gives second season vibes so much, setting up like whatever mission zz was just given.

Also like Youku announced second seasons of elegant of zang hai, immortal ascension and unveiled jadewind among others, so kind of seems like Youku is going down the route of more second seasons for their dramas so who knows could be possible. As long as it's same cast though.

Fingers crossed, hopefully they should be but who knows how the subs will work with express when it's not on like Youku internationally, or at least in my region.

Haha yeh that would have been nice, but just glad they showed us Bai yutang and zz together talking and joking after the credits. Honestly gives me sequel vibes but won't hold out too much hope.

I totally get that for sure, skipping or fast forwarding annoying stuff makes watching more enjoyable when theres dramas that have a lot of annoying stuff but you still want to watch and like enjoy the good stuff

Yeh it's a bit annoying, but he gets better from like ep 17 onwards I think, but just as 2ml gets better, not long after 3ml returns and is annoying so be prepared. Also 2ml is annoying once he hears about the marriage but isn't too bad then cause he has fewer scenes. He's annoying for like two or three scenes but then calms down nd is better for the rets of the drama. ML and fl finally get more time together like between ep 16-22ish which I think was the best part of the drama like I mentioned.

I'm interested to see what you think about fl's rejection of 2ml later on around ep 20 something, I thought it could be more direct/harsher like I said in my review above but maybe thats just me.

No problem, and yeh subs aren't great but I just wanted to see the ending, gonna watch properly when subs are better probably later in the day.

Yeh I agree, sure maybe its a little plot hole but I really don't care, just wanted him to survive thats all and Bai Yuting is like a slippery type of guy if anyone could have found a way to survive it would have been him.

Pretty much agree with what you said, 2ml/heir grows on you as the drama goes on, and 3ml becomes the annoying one kind of funny how they flip. Glad you enjoyed the drama though, I agree not like at the tier of the ones you mentioned, but still pretty good

Hey, yeh the 2ml I think I mentioned I did find him annoying also but he does grow on you, takes a while though I won't lie starts off rough with him, the start and middle part he was pretty annoying. 3ml I also agree, he's not bad now, but takes a turn later in the drama. 2ml and 3ml kind of flip, 2ml becomes less annoying, 3ml becomes more annoying but that happens way later in the drama.

I agree for sure, I like the subtle interest between ml and fl, they do a good job of like their subtle glances and stuff showing interest, you can feel their chemistry, and yeh fl has some nice scenes standing up for herself, she's a strong fl and doesn't take too much nonsense for her family which is nice. Hope you enjoy the rest of the drama, look forward to your thoughts.

There is an after credits scene in ep 37, be sure to wait and watch after the credits!! You don't want to miss it, gives us a good ending
