To be fair I think most people don't care to look for prince li. For marquis muyang, prince li's apparent death is a perfect excuse to push off the murder of that yuan guy ml is investigating. So he doesn't care if he's alive or not, thats why he didn't bother to investigate he pretty much just said he was dead and started arrested people related to prince li. What matters to him is not if he's dead or not, but just to frame prince li as yuan's murder, I say frame but prince li did in fact murder the guy, but marquis doesn't know that he just wants to be rid of suspicion that was on him. Really only ml and fl care whether he's dead or not, prince li doesn't really have anyone else that cares to investigate if he's dead or not, makes no difference to most people, in fact his death helps most people so they are more then willing to say he died and move on.

And fl didn't take the assassin, the assassin kept following her so she really had no option, since he's following may as well use him, besides that we know she likes to mostly act alone, she doesn't trust many people so she planned on going alone. As for why she's investigating prince li that is a good question, I think we'll find out more next ep of why she is doing what she's doing so we'll see. Fl seems to always have a reason for everything she does so far. But I do agree even though she likes to work alone, would have made more sense to take her martial arts brother and work together.

I mean its kind of like same crazy saesang fans I believed they're called, you see in c-entz and k-entz especially, you know those stalker type fans. She's not on the level of being a stalker but as a metaphor you know, even though they are the not the vast majority, these few stalker fans don't even know the celebrity personally but are crazily devoted for them, similar type of thing I would think.

I think she will tell him but I think she's waiting until she finds the edict, that way she can kind of tell him while offering a solution. In my mind fl is that type of person, she wants to solve things herself, so she'll tell him but only after she can exonerate his brothers name and kind of make up for it if that makes sense, at least thats what I'm guessing but we'll have to wait and see

The theory is everyone is dead, but because of the trauma he suffered living alone on the mountain while everyone she cared about died up there, she still believes everyone is alive like it never happened in her mind, kind of like her hallucination about her maid and master Zhu.

It was only today I realized that we finally got a nice second side couple. Normally in historical cdramas we get a good/nice side couple we can root for as well quite early on, but I was so into the mystery and ml and fl relationship and the storyline was so good that I didn't even register we had no nice side couples that we can also root for/enjoy, until today. I hope Qin cang and the doctor lady have a good end but why do I get the feeling Qin cang is gonna have a tragic end.

Honestly though, the storyline and plot so far is so engaging and the ml and fl relationship is so good that the fact we had no other nice side couples was unnoticeable for me until today, just goes to show how good the drama has been so far at keeping viewers attention.

Yeh her uncle is very hard to read for sure, I hope he stays good though as he's like her only related family member that actually treats her well but for sure he's suspicious, definitely hard to get a read on

Yeh even though he shouldn't be going down this path, his backstory does make me sympathetic as well. Feels like he wasn't a bad person but became one because of everything he went through.

I'm so intrigued by consort dowager I can't lie, I thought she was evil but today finding out empress dowager was behind the eastern palace fire years ago, she seemed genuinely shocked and looked a little hurt. In the mean time I feel like slowly but surely empress dowager is showing her true colors a bit, trying to be the benevolent ruler but behind she's truly ruthless and power hungry. The flashback scene I feel gave us a proper glimpse of her true self.

Haha no problem, yeh fire in east palace was in the past, empress dowager used it to take the throne. If you remember it was mentioned when we got mo lingji's perspective of his childhood and stuff in ep 12 I think it was.

Also besides the other comments don’t worry in the book ml and fl mess with her bad, she thinks she’s smart but gets totally outplayed and toyed with by ml and fl. She doesn’t effect them much in the novel so I think same will happen in the drama.

Mo Jingli set the fire to cover his escape, but they also there’s a flashback of a fire years ago in the east palace that empress dowager had set to take the throne, that’s why you may be confused, two fires. The one we see Mjl set to escape, but they show a quick flashback and marquis talks about the fire he set for empress years ago.

True that I forgot about that, but yeh even those he’s an obsessed crazy dude, when it comes to scheming they’re both pretty smart and know each other pretty well. I appreciate details like this that have a foundation and make sense

100%, like you said the foundation for reading his movies is so well established especially cause it’s interesting when you think since he studied at lishan academy as well, I think likely he thought up the escape plan the same as her, since they both have the same foundation of studying at lishan acadney and fl used that knowledge to pretty much read what he did

Love when we get to see fl putting her smarts to use and damn ep 19 was so good for that, the way fl figured everything out was so good.

Yeh I read the novel but a while ago so don't remember all the details but yeh I remember ml disliked her and pretty much let fl deal with her and fln ever got jealous, I think cause she realized there was nothing to be jealous over at all, from memory even though they were engaged when young, ml never had feelings for her. Anyway, yeh I hope they recreate some fun scenes of ml and fl fooling her.
