Moving on... Is Lomfon planning a public confession in front of the entire class using the assignment about love the professor gave them? Before episode 10, I would've said that's not his style, but now I'm not so sure. The professor said they can do it alone and it seemed like Lomfon didn't pair up with anyone.
I gotta say just this - Tai's got to be one of the most selfish characters I've seen in a while. Boy, you're not a prize, get over yourself, not everything is about you.
It's been like this for a while, but I'm still here only for Tien and Lomfon. Mainly Tien. I hope to see Copter and Suar in another series together as mains, they really impressed me.
Edit: I hope Lomfon won't turn to Tai for help with Tien, because Tai does not know everything about Tien, this is a lie. We saw Lomfon can do fine messing up on his own, no need to screw it up even more by asking Tai about anything. Tai managed to ruin his own relationship pretty spectaculary, don't involve him in his brother's.
Why do they ALWAYS have to break up the main couple one episode before the end? I don't understand. Why? They just got together after the longest courtship in the world! Also, this episode would've been better if they'd showed some sort of intimacy between the mains, like in the last episode.
I don't know, but this is the first episode that I couldn't watch in one go, it was sort of boring.
The secondary couple has been abandoned by the writers for a long time and I don't care.
Next Tuesday is my birthday and there will be a hell to pay if they give us an unsatisfactory ending. Come on, don't ruin it at the very end.
this drama could have been much better without all the mess from this ep. the comments here are so loooooong with…
With one shot, they destroyed the relationship build-up of both couples (and so far, they'd done fine with it) and because this wasn't enough, they also made three of the main four characters unlikable for different reasons. I don't know how they will manage to repair all of this in two episodes. It seems impossible to me.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
To be fair, unless it has happened off screen, Tien hasn't been obvious about his feelings for Lomfon in front of other people except Lomfon himself (when they're alone) so there's no way for Tai to guess Tien likes Lomfon.
The more interesting question would be why Tien wouldn't tell Tai about it, considering how close they are supposed to be. Just an example - Tai made Tien come to him during a rainy night to let him know he'd found his cute soulmate (the famous "Unfuck it!" scene). Their conversations so far have always been about Tai's soulmate business, but never about Tien, i.e. Tien is always there to give emotional support to his brother, but so far, there are no indications Tai has done the same for Tien, ever. We've seen Tai pick him up when he was drunk, but they've never had a personal conversation that was about Tien's issues and not about Tai's.
The blame for it is on both, because their relationship has been like that from the beginning - Tien is serving as an emotional support for Tai (during the parents' divorce and the entire soulmate business) and receiving almost none in return. Tien is a nurturing person who puts his brother's well-being first, before his own, and Tai is used to it and doesn't think about it too much because it's always been like that. It's very telling Tai never showed any interest in asking Tien about the person he was falling in love with, although Tien told him about it, whether something has come out of it, etc. If Tien and Lomfon are happening, Tai has to find out and I'm really curious whether Tien will tell him voluntarily or he'll find out in another way, because Tien wants to spare him again.
In the opening credits, there's a Tien/Tai scene we haven't seen yet (Tien seems to be sick and they hug) and I really hope that whatever they're talking about is about Tien and not about Tai's soulmate business again. I have some hope that their dynamics will change with time and Tien will start paying more attention to his own needs before considering someone else's, even if it is his beloved brother.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
Oh, Tai is very far from innocent in this, absolutely. While Lomfon cannot figure himself out, Tai deals with conflicts by avoiding them or running away from them or holding grudges for years... what a prize he is.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
Tien and Lomfon are in their second year at university, it was clearly said in episode 1. Also, it was clearly stated that people with hearing loss start hearing their soulmates when they turn 20. Considering the time that has passed since episode 1 and the hearing loss (and hearing Tai and Patts voices) he experienced, Lomfon has to be 20 years old. Everything points to this age. He't not a kid by any means. I even saw a post where he was called a teenager. Nope, he's an adult.
While I absolutely agree that Patts' rush of violence towards him was too much and he should've stopped after the first punch, I can't blame Patts for that first punch (even though it was wrong and pushing him out of the way would've been enough to shake him, hopefully), because I don't see any other way to make Lomfon understand how selfish he was being in that moment. Tien tried to warn him, he didn't listen. Patts tried to warn him, he again didn't listen. True, he talked to them before making a move on Tai, I give him that. But in Tien's case, he withheld vital information, and in Patts', he just ignored what he was told. Tien would've never told him to go after a soulmate who's already taken if he'd known all facts.
In the end, Lomfon deserves everything that's going to come to him in the next episode (we've seen the preview), because he chose the absolutely wrong way to figure out his confused feelings and it didn't matter to him who he would hurt in the process.
Also, I know Copter is a new actor but man he gives me absolutely nothing..there are moments in the series when…
I think he's meant to be guarded and not show his feelings unless he chooses to, like he met Tai, decided they had things in common and that he likes him and that was it, he can show some feelings now. Also, he looks for an explanation and tries to analyse and find logic in everything, which is why it's been 10 episodes and he still hasn't figured out his own feelings. Such people tend to hide what they're thinking until they're sure about what they feel, and as we can see, it takes a looooong time. Apart from that, he has no friends and seems to avoid socialising. It says a lot that his connection to Tien was forced, because the professor made them work together, neither of them wanted to. In fact, the only people he seems to have opened to so far are Tien and Tai.
I agree that at times, he could show a little more emotion, though, like in the last episode after everything went down. They showed us he was thinking about Tien's confession, but for the life of me I couldn't desipher his reaction and what he was thinking, unlike with the other three characters. Maybe it was intentional, but I really wish he's been more expressive in that scene. He was alone and there was no one to see him, after all.
I think like you, Lomfon was asking about himself and choosing between Tai and Tien. Imo he didn't say anything…
BTW, I thought like you initially, like "OK, Tien just confessed to you, why won't you say anything?", but the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that in those cirscumstances, Lomfon couldn't say anything without appearing even more like an asshole. I don't think a confession from Lomfon at that exact very emotional moment would've been taken well, if anything, it would've hurt Tien more.
I'm more angry at Lomfon for asking what the entire thing has to do with Tien. Well, it was you who got him involved when you wouldn't stop holding his hand and staring at him and asking him to stay with and take care of you. I'm also glad Tien said he thought Lomfon was feeling the same way, because yes, everyone with half a brain would think that.
alsooo... what do we think about lomfon's question about picking the person you like vs. your soulmate?because…
I think like you, Lomfon was asking about himself and choosing between Tai and Tien. Imo he didn't say anything after Tien's confession because he'd just kissed his brother in front of him. He knew Tien would not believe him and probably thought it would be worse. Also, I don't think he expected it and was startled.
I still think Tien is the one Lomfon truly likes, but honestly, Tien deserves better. I didn't enjoy their arguing in the earlier episodes, but I will relish every moment Tien rejects Lomfon in the next episode.
Seriously. Tien deserves the world. I think it's very telling that those 3 selfish assholes are each other's soulmates.…
After rewatching the episode, I realised they've effectively ruined Tien and Lomfon for me. I hope for Tien to move on, this is the best solution for him. He deserves to be loved unconditionally and put first, and a character like Lomfon cannot give him that. As far as I'm concerned, Lomfon and Tai can end up together now, after all, both of them are selfish assholes with disregard for the feelings of others. True soulmates, these two.
Edit: This is me being rational and reasonable. A tiny part of me still has hope they will be able to pull Tien/Lomfon off without making Tien feel like a second choice or a rebound, but I don't see how they can do it, especially in two episodes. Just for the record, I firmly believe Tien is the one Lomfon truly likes despite the bullshit he pulled, but it's about Tien's feelings and they are all that matter, so Lomfon's true feelings are secondary.
actually you go after that person first where you are less scared of a fallout.. the more precious one will be…
When you put it like that, I understand, but in this case, the drama would've been spared if Lomfon had just kissed Tien instead. He's had enough hand holdings (most of which iniciated by him, btw) and possibilities to do it.
Don't mind me, I'm just pissed off that there will be no Tien/Lomfon as a couple until the very last episode.
Patts was way more relatable in this episode than Tai. Tai went gradually from my favourite character from the four at the beginning to my least favourite. I don't understand his issues and the reason for them, I'm sorry. He's an adult and has to get over his parents' divorce, it's time. Also, going out with someone you have been warned that he likes you and lying to your boyfriend about it is generally not a good idea.
Tien, baby, without knowing, you encouraged your crush to go after your brother. Also, the hands holding again! My feeling was that Lomfon was hoping to get another answer. That was also the only scene I genuinely enjoyed from the beginning to the end. I love Tien and Lomfon together, even though I probably should't, the chemistry is on point and I feel that they have had a proper development, despite the Tai mess. I'm now sure Lomfon knows he likes Tien, too, but of course, poor Tien cannot win against his not so perfect brother without the hearing loss, no matter how much they have bonded over time.
Whether Patts and Tai are a good couple or not is debatable, but Lomfon did indeed behave as a jerk. You don't figure out your confused feelings by kissing someone else's boyfriend and hurting many people in the process. Also, generally, if your can't decide between two people, then you go after the one who is not involved first, even if he says you should pick the soulmate. It's common sense, Lomfon!
I wish more couples would do the lift butt onto kitchen counter after confession. We all know most dramas couples…
So true! To be fair, the highschool couple in The Luminous Solution did that despite both being virgins, and I have high hopes the side couple in La Pluie would do it too, because their SL is even more slowburn than Pat and Jeng's.
Seriously, the confession is out of the way, they are old enough, why wait? Especially if they've waited very long to come to this point in the first place. I think Jeng's honest, unadulterated, unapologetic passion for his boyfriend was my favourite part of this episode. I don't know how shallow this makes me, but there you go. :)
May I ask about what you mean with the direction the Lomfon story is going? Him not knowing what he wants or the…
There is a connection to Tien in any case, because in the preview for the next episode, Lomfon and Tien are shouting at each other in the rain and Lomfon can hear Tien, which he shoudn't be able to do if he has the "normal" hearing loss.
My feeling is that if Tien and Lomfon are soulmates and admit it, Lomfon's hearing loss will either disappear as suddently as it came, because Tien clearly doesn't have it, or he will start hearing Tien instead.
It's been like this for a while, but I'm still here only for Tien and Lomfon. Mainly Tien. I hope to see Copter and Suar in another series together as mains, they really impressed me.
