i don't think he's asking her to submit and stay by his side in the way you are assuming 😭yes he wants to protect her but let's also be fr, susu's plans are STUPID. they simply won't work and even if they do, she will again end up involving innocent people who have absolutely nothing to do with the abuse mu lan faced. so far in the drama, qingyi is actually the only character i like. he is the only person I'm rooting a happy ending for. I hope susu gets her revenge but she is doing it at the cost of innocent people and I can't support that. i don't rlly like the brother either bc he probably knew the abuse qingyi was facing yet he still remained neutral for the sake of their household. a bystander is just as bad as the abuser for me.

+ i find the background music sooo overstimulating, it's ruining my experience as a whole. like fine I decided to ignore the bad editing and directing but then the music choices are way too questionable...it takes me out of the scenes completely

kinda same, i totally empathise with susu's desire for revenge but qingyi suffered WAY TOO MUCH. like if it was only him suffering emotionally then I'd understand them getting back together as the female lead will help get back on track emotionally yada yada but bro went to prison bc of her and GOT PHYSICALLY ABUSED THERE. he lost his dreams and he can never get them back. no amount of ren susu's love can compensate all these for me 😭
