I think the biggest issue with this drama is the weird editing. The first 4 episodes were brutal, with constant jumping back and forth between past and present scenes, but after episode 4 it kind of stabilized.
Another major problem, imo, is that we spend way too much time with secondary characters rather than our main leads, making it hard to form a deeper connection with them early on.
I also feel like we’re missing those heavy emotional moments. Like, let me FEEL what Qingyi and Susu are feeling for more than just two scenes and two tears per episode! Let me feel some suspense, let's see a couple of scenes longer than 2 minutes.

ok, i'm kind of a veteran at reading bl and omega verse ff but watching it on a big screen is VERY different. i laughed my ass off for almost the entirety of the first episode and i love the edits on tiktok. 10/10 i'm gonna reccommend it to my non-bl-omega-verse friends asap.

I know how the novel ends (i briefly checked it) but sometimes in chinese adaptations they change so much that in the end it isn't really an adaptation but more like a new tv-show inspired by the novel (recent example: mo li/ the first jasmine).
