yes, she's not just driven by valid grievances. Her illogical hatred and envy towards her sister drives most of her bad decisions. From the very first episode, she used her logic and reasoning to harm Qiu Yan. It's really sad.

I do think she's an interesting character and I do feel bad for her sometimes but after she did what she did to Qin Xuan, I lost all respect for her. She did to him what happened to her and I was mortified. I am interested to see what the show will do with her now.
They did such a good job and it's original. I'm really impressed. The show might not be perfect or expensive but it's really engaging and fun to watch. Compliments to the writer!
All for jokes, but I definitely would not want to be a royal concubine or princess if I ever lived in the ancient…
To be honest, being a woman in ancient times was just a huge bummer. Being a concubine in the palace was the worst of it all. Wouldn't wish it on my enemy!
It could still have a happy ending. Yanxi palace has what everyone considers a happy ending too but in history,…
Yes, I understand. I also always get a mini-heart attack every time Marcus Sim talks about this show because the plot summary he uses sounds so NOT romantic and nothing like the show, lol but I just think with Cdramas, you never know unless you watch the whole show!
Am I the only one who cant see how the FL looks older than the ML as I agree that the make up done on her was…
I think she's perfectly fine. I find all this shaming actresses for their looks/weight/age to be very distasteful. Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan look like a very fetching couple here and I think they suit each other well. The make up is Ming style, I think. Even the women in art look like that too. Idk what everyone was expecting. I think it's nice to attempt some historical accuracy. I always hate it when modern makeup and hairstyle show up in historical show designs.
Idk if its just me but im overthinking rn because in Ming Dynasty Zhu Zhan Ji died early 10 years after his reign…
It could still have a happy ending. Yanxi palace has what everyone considers a happy ending too but in history, Wei Ying Luo's counterpart died just ten years after the ending we saw in the show. So this show might not necessarily show the emperor's death either and might just end with Empress Sun's crowning or something. As for that article, I guess some people just need to always make one woman a villain, lol! Don't take it too seriously. In history, they always make one woman a shrewd evil person to make it sound like the men with all the power did nothing wrong and were just "tricked"! Empress Sun didn't do anything to Empress Hu. Xuande just hated her and she was sickly so he deposed her!
I was honestly shocked that this show had such a heavy and complex twist.
