It took me about 3-4 months? I was reading HOB and then I just got so curious about the immoralities in this book and I became fascinated with the plot. So I decided to check out a few chapters. I was in denial for a while, thinking I was really reading HOB but eventually I put that aside and finished Rynn's translation. Then I didn’t read the rest for three weeks, thinking I could finish the rest from rynn's translation but eventually I picked up the mtl and finished around the same time that hyx finished filming. So yeah, took me a while and I was also reading it between breaks in my work so it was hectic.

Have you read other c-novels? I think it was easier for me to understand the mtl, maybe because I was used to the writing style of chinese novels? I don't know, maybe you just missed things when skipping but it's not a big deal. Don't stress about it.

It's a book that will really benefit from a close reading. I'm used to analysing texts so I was on the lookout for foreshadowing and symbolism and stuff when I was reading. Also, can I ask how long did it take you to read the whole thing? I know that fastreading sometimes results in missing bits and pieces. As for the show, I think you’re going to be fine. They will likely change it a lot so it's probably better if you don't read the book at all!

Mo Ran is supposed to kick at CWN. CFY mimes the kick but then while backing away, LYX trips on his robes and falls and it's kind of adorably funny actually! Anyway, he seems to injure himself and CFY runs over and helps him but then a bunch of people with nothing better to do tried to make it sound like CFY actually kicked LYX!!! It's so silly!
This is my first time watching one of Allen Ren's shows and I was a bit hesitant to start it but now I'm wondering why I was defensive, he's very good!

It's been a year since I read HOB and when I started the manhua was starting the desert arc and it just finished a little while ago...so yeah, the speed checks out.
