I just remembered we will have to watch Nangong Si die and I don't think I'm ever going to be emotionally prepared for that.

He got Mo Ran's memories from the flower when he got the rest of his earth soul back.
I know, right?! I've seen multiple reviews like that but I think they just read the mtl and didn't understand what was happening.

Personally, I would only want a translation if it's done by Rynn.
Hahaha. I really appreciate Rynn's translation! It was such a big part of my summer last year. People have parasocial relationships with celebs, I have a parasocial relationship with Rynn's translation! lol

Meatbun has put so much detail and work in this book. I always get so pissed when people say it doesn't make sense or that there are plot holes because there really isn't! You just need to pay attention to the details.

Well, I don't know how someone else's translation might go but I don't want anyone else's translation. Rynn made specific terminology choices and made sure to create double meanings and it's the only translation I can tolerate. I don't think I'll enjoy reading the story if the tone is not exactly like Rynn's.

He did learn of it then but the plot only revealed it later. Those parts were wild!

It's not canon since it's not in the text of the novel. It's just Word of God. I personally refuse to acknowledge…
Yeah, it's not even important. There are some posts that help, like her explanation of each version and the merging and stuff but who cares if the characters poop or have diarrhea or whatever!

It was later than everything else. Maybe in "I came here to be martyred with you" aka "I'm here to die with you" depending on your version of the mtl!
Anyway, cwn was crying for mo ran and the flashback came there.

He found a book in the library with a note in it? Presumably left behind by Shi Mei when he was doing his research on the subject. It was something very random and vague.

Yes. I don't remember the details because it has been a year since I read it and the mtl was not easy to understand but I think it was mentioned somewhere. Like that was the reason behind Mo Ran remembering everything from the past life.

The whole reason for the transmigration is the thing that cwn did. I don't think the logic is explained, just mentioned that he used the remaining part of his soul to save txj and that's why after CWN's death TXJ started to change too.
I don't remember where it was exactly. The later chapters of the mtl, I think.

lol. So basically: txj went to visit Chu fei and saw him writing letters to xue meng. He got jealous because the opening of the letter was super romantic. Then chu fei told him that Mo Ran himself used to start every letter like that but txj called bs and left. That night he called chu fei to him room and he was very distressed because he couldn't remember writing any letters. Ch fei asked him a few more questions and realized he doesn't remember anything from his youth. Especially all the good parts. He thought that was suspicious so he did some research and figured out there's a flower that can eat happy memories. That is the reason why txj is so bad at literature too. Because CWN taught him how to read and he loved those days so he forgot all of it and became illiterate again.

Yeah when he touched his forehead, he transfered the remaining part of one of his souls into his body and a part in the other timeline's Mo Ran's body and one part in the other Chu Wanning's body.
Then txj's soul followed that soul into Mo Ran's body...
It's super complicated!

Well, make sense since he is made out of wood. But then, how come he eats? 🤣
I think that's not how Chu Wanning works though. He's like the human form of any inanimate object that cultivates a human body. His master used his own cultivation to give him life. Like a fox fairy, or like Shenggong's broken bowl!
They are in fact, human but also carry the spirit of their origin. So he's not like Pinocchio.

He got Mo Ran's memories from the flower when he got the rest of his earth soul back.
The scene in the cave when they both got trapped in the memory and relived their wedding night. The whole process was to extract Chu Wanning's earth soul that helped TXJ travel to the past back into CWN's body and extract the dead flower from Mo Ran's heart. When this happened, the memories that the flower has eaten away to feed Mo Ran's rage and hatred were transferred along with Chu Wanning's earth soul to cwn. So he basically got Chu Fei's consciousness along with Mo Ran's happy memories of the past. During the weeks when he was totally lost and his souls were merging and he went in and out of consciousness, he also processed those memories.
