I went in with high expectations, but this one was so boring. Sadly, I have to drop this. FL was too weak for my liking and ML's character was sub par passable, but there was like no romance buildup for the leads and I'm expect to just go with the flow.
begging on my knees for part 2 of female fortune teller
Omgah! It was so good! One of the best vertical dramas I've seen so far. Got me hooked from the beginning to the end and still wanting more!
I think it'll get a green light for season two. The C-folks love it and are thinking it might even have up to 4 seasons because she still has 9 objects left. This drama is also ranked #1 at the moment for newly released vertical dramas.
TYY did really well in here such as with her voice switching from old to young. First time that TYY has impressed me; she really embodied the empress dowager role well even with a young and pretty look. Honestly, she was so gorgeous in here that the other female leads pales in comparison.
I did watch this at 2x. Although, I enjoyed the FL's character who was the main focal point of the show, I still think that it's a pity the romance was not directed at the leads.
Finally finished this after so many days. I've seen Chen Tian Xiang's version so I kind of get the gist of what this drama was about. Likewise, ML was still an interesting character, but the overall story was still pretty boring for me and the lack of romance buildup. In terms of storyline, I'd say this one was superior and although the romance development was lacking, this one was still done better. I wouldn't say I enjoyed this drama though, the storyline was just not for me, not much excitement.
Title:"If I Could Have Xiao Yubai in This Life" | 此生若得萧俞白ML : Zeng Hui | 曾辉FL: Li Ke…
Omgash, this one had me in tears 😭; several times back and forth. Tbh, the comedy at the beginning of the drama felt pretty flat to me and I was kind of unimpressed. I followed this drama blindly and confusingly as it just thrusts you into the leads' life right away, but once the plot twist shows up, you finally understand why the beginning was film that way. After the plot twist, the drama finally picked up and got really good. ZH and LKY did really well with the emotional scenes! Made my heart ache for their love too 😭.
Tan Yan Yan is a pretty actress yet I always seem to not care for her character and this is one of them. I like CYT, but his ML character in here felt like he was just there to be there. The plot was on the meh side for me. I pushed myself to finish it even though it was less than 2 hrs; felt like forever to finish.
This was an okay drama. It’s similar to Chen Yun Ting’s other drama, Heroine. I’d say this drama had the same over-the-top effects as the other one, but it featured a better storyline, more budget for better wardrobe, and a stronger male lead. This was what I didn't get from Heroine. My same complaint was the lack of romance. I just wish there had been more romance development between the leads, although this drama did include more interactions between them compared to Heroine.
That said, the main actress from Heroine, Wang Yun Yun, had a more convincing portrayal of a female general, and overall, her facial expressions were stronger. You felt like she really did lose her soldiers, and that she really was a female general who can take down anyone.
Besides that, the two most memorable scenes for me were the banquet scene, where the female lead swapped the palace bow for her own family’s bow, and the scene where both leads hid in a brothel closet while the villainous second leads carried out their dirty deed were absolutely hilarious.
Loved this one especially ML's character. FL was mean at first, but then you kind of understand why she's the way she is and her character provides comedic relief. Even the 2nd ML was written really well too. My only concern was the low budget for this drama. It would have been nice if the clothes, hair, and sets were more luxurious. But, still a cute and good drama.
The Eng subs were horrible for the youtube version. I did find a paid app for this drama, but I wasn't sure if the app and this drama was worth $20. Good thing I didn't invest.
I liked this, but didn't love it. I felt like certain parts were cut and deleted especially for ML's story. At first ML seemed disinterest at FL, but somehow you get the vibe that he unknowingly and sneakily helped the FL. And then out of no where, ML starts to care about FL and is jealous of other men around her which was weird in my opinion as we're way past the middle part of the drama. FL's story of reborn genre is no stranger to any viewer and it is still entertaining to see what revenge she was going to bring and what grievances she has suffered, but the drama's focus was all on her story that they left no room or didn't want to expand the ML's story like his purpose and reason. At the end, I'm left questioning how and why?...If we added maybe 30 more eps to show more romance and ML's backstory then I would have rated this higher.
FL needed someone like ML to back her up unlike someone or some people. I have never hated a SML with so much passion before and I did not forget about that scheming evil chick with her two face friend.
First off, I love how this FL reacts so proactively to all the things I want her to do LOL. I was like 2nd ML deserved all that misunderstanding for sending her mixed signals. Also, I knew the 2nd ML was a red flag when he wanted FL to walk with him 🙄. I was screaming at the TV screen on how he expects her to walk when she's in freaken heels and oh lord behold, FL complained about it 👏👏👏😂😂😂.
