I know I should not get too invested in a fiction drama. But yeah, Jiang Ci may already gets amnesia. Selective one. :D I used to hear a real case of a sexual assault. The victim was a sunny girl, a typical girl next door. But after the incident, she was nearly crazy and perhaps almost admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Her family then used hypnosis to her. Apparently, it worked. She forgot that horrible incident and lived her daily life as usual. She would be in happiness forever as long as no one told her the truth or said any triggering words which could break the hypnosis. Back to JC, after 3 murder attempts on her by the very same perpetrator, now she becomes friendly with him easily??? and even becomes lovers in future episodes. 🤣

His mother is obsessed to revive Pei Clan (military resources) to be on par with kingdom's military resources. Meanwhile, since long time ago the emperor saw Pei Clan as a threat. This is the cliche part on every historical drama but really effective to justify the emperor's motive. A certain general family with immense wealth and military retainers helping the kingdom secure the sovereignty over neighboring kingdoms. BUT, their victory backfires. Instead of getting respect from the court, they just get hostile receptions. If PY decides to cut off relationship with Pei clan who treated him and his motherhorribly, he will be accused as an unfilial lad. The rest of the world will mock him. And if he choose to estrange himself from the emperor (means he is not ambitious to get Prime Minister slot), then, he is vulnerable to become a scapegoat in every emperor's schemes. Simply because he has a surname Pei. what a tough choice he has!

I know it's a stupid scenario, but yeah, I let it slide for the sake of the plot moving.

yess, I kinda understand PY and WZ's different attitudes. Afterall they don't have similar experiences and family backgrounds. PY was born with silver spoon and never experinced hardship like the poor did. Even though WZ was born as YueLuo noble, he had been living as a slave.

I happened to encounter bad sub on iqiyi, but they fixed it later. I was watching major drama though, I don't know about other filler drama or unpopular drama. Whether they get the same treatment or not.

I guess it is where WZ and JC start to synchronize their brainwaves. LOL. JC cannot fathom the way PY acts. in PY's POV, everything he did is justifiable and win-win solution. He tries to protect JC and demands her to not do anything dangerous. Meanwhile, WZ is like, pampers her (do anything you like!) and helps her whenever she faces danger. WZ and PY have different endeavors to keep JC on their side.

IMO, they shouldn't make a fuss about historical properties that much similar to Chinese. In the past (pre Joseon) Chinese culture already spread throughout Korean Peninsula, even to Japan archipelago. I am like the majority of them about this: is it necessary to put explicit stuff to semi fiction sageuk? I had watched many sageuks, they were still great even without explicit scenes.

well, it is expected from a country with a number #1 population. :D the competition is hella fierce. Also, China is a communist country. You are expected to be a subject of the country (read: government). No communist had been easy to their subject. Even so, every country has its own showbiz problem. Only they are reluctant to disclose the dirty laundry. It's either they think those stuffs are common or they feel scared to speak out. Look at Johny Jimunsho sekihara case. It's just a tip of an iceberg. (I'm screaming for my Arashi crush!!). Or look how they treat badly Kpop idol behind the scenes and how fans see them as saint idols who are expected to be perfect and pure. Or the vulnerability of teenagers or newcomer being abused (sexually) in some countries of SEA.

I can see the pattern of C showbiz. Many actors who were at the peak of their careers, mostly with their own studio or relatively small agency, were prone to black campaigns. Even if they were innocent, it was hard to change people's opinions and digital trace of backlash. That is why, some actors stay in limbo and have a tiny chance to make a comeback.

I hope we get to see the original one. Maybe someday. when PRC loose their rules over showbiz.
