I think it's pretty clearly explained in the ending? The working mother was currently living with her mother (the granny). Unfortunately the granny was missing in the riverbank and found dead later. All the time, the working mom interacted with her daughter. But, it was only her daughter's spirit. Actually, her daughter had been long lost (from the depiction, it can be concluded that her daughter was a victim in a hit and run case). The mother somehow managed to get her daughter's spirit back since she was already physically dead. So, it was true that the youtuber boy said the women (the working mother) was living alone, but she talked as if she lived with the 2 more people in the house. Both her daughter and granny were already dead. She was just talking with their spirits.
Sadly but, please accept the fact that YBY is already banned from C Showbiz scene.
YBY is an actress. A persona who is banned by PRC will never be appear in China public media again. I'm pretty sure they live well IRL, but is banned for having social media, no appearance in any media as well. None will recruit him/her in job related with media.

This series has a vibe of Japanese Tales of Terror. Even the loud closing ost reminds me of any anime or Japan series. It feels like you are watching a Japanese horror show with Taiwanese actors in it. LOL
