Better if you don’t watch TBOY before this actually, because it contains some spoilers. And yes, it’s worthy. This first episodes are a little slow but be patient with them. After maybe the first ten, the plot becomes better. The relationships between the characters are pretty wholesome too. You should definitely give it a watch!
I’ve watched the donghua before and lemme tell y’all, they couldn’t have chosen a better Yu Wanyin and Xia Houdan. Normally, I don’t like live actions for already-existing donguas but this gives off the same vibe and feeling the donghua did but the best part is that it’s even longer. I’m finally out of my cdrama slump since BR.
The point of making survival shows are to debut the most popular contestants and fan favs so the final group can gain more fans, popularity and exposure to the group even prior debut. The rankings being mostly decided by fan votes instead of producer judgement is exactly what the shows are about, to debut the most popular contestants. So the rankings and eliminations being rigged is a side effect of these shows because talent doesn’t necessarily mean popularity. Just being talented isn’t enough to debut here. It’s very normal for rigged rankings to happen in survival shows in general. Plus, we never know how honest these survival shows are, just gotta trust them somehow.

Can someone tell me what Yang Yutong’s role here is? It says main role but there’s literally more main role than support and guest combined so I can’t tell how important her character is.
