Okay, I don't know WHAT they put in My Royal Nemesis, but everything about this is addicting and just works. Romcoms can easily end up becoming boring, corny, predictable, or too much since they rely on a lot of cliches, but this drama manages to make even the most cliche tropes and cheesiest lines refreshing, endearing, and fun. The actors here have such natural chemistry and are so good at embodying their characters that it doesn't make you cringe and instead makes you genuinely smile, laugh, squeal, etc. (and later on will probably make us cry too). The contrast of the leads' appearances with the ridiculous stuff they say and do makes their banter and the comedy really land as well. There's a pretty good balance of silliness and seriousness in the story. Also, the subtle details they include that might not be obvious or noticeable at first all feel very intentional and makes the audience appreciate every scene and interaction even more. It gives the show a huge rewatch value. I never really rewatch episodes of ongoing dramas, but I can't get enough of this and have rewatched every episode more than two times. They somehow mastered the kdrama craze formula and I'm hopeful that the show will only get better as I'm enjoying every new episode they put out even more than the previous one!
park jihyun looks so adorable and sweet on the poster! her character here is very different from her usual roles. i'm excited to see a new side to her.
Would you please tell me, what taboo topics is this exploring? Thank you. (As I am reading the comments wondering…
so far, they already touched on sexual harassment, rape, physical abuse, victim blaming, drugs in the entertainment industry, prostitution/sex trade, stalking, cyberbullying, self-harm, and also have one of the female leads as a two-time divorcee. i also love how their law firm specializes and focuses on crimes against women.
THE FIRST EPISODE LEFT SUCH A HUGE IMPRESSION ON ME! they were able to introduce so many "taboo" topics in just one episode, and i love how smart, charismatic, and powerful the three main ladies are in different ways. i can't wait to learn more about them. i'm a big fan of jung eun chae and she's killing it as sin jae. i hope lots of people tune into this drama.
I may be the minority who appreciated the movie for what it is, mostly because it reminded me of the movie Artificial Intelligence (2001) at times which tackled similar themes. I just wish they leaned into the eerie, sci-fi aspect more if they weren't gonna stick to the disaster aspect anyway so the shift halfway in the movie wouldn't be as jarring. There are also a lot of plot holes & details in the movie that would only make sense if you rewatch it or if someone else points it out, and the movie can come off as confusing instead of thought-provoking. Regardless, it was still pretty enjoyable. Dami's acting was great and I was rooting for her character to suceed.
ANOTHER PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE IN "THE PRICE OF CONFESSION!" i'm still not over You And Everything Else and she blows me away yet again. literally in love with all her projects
I hope someone can change his "Guest Role" for The Good Bad Mother into "Support Role" so more people will find his profile easier when they look at the cast. Loved his acting btw! Hoping to see him more of him in the future!
spirit fingers is my absolute favorite webtoon! judging by the number of episodes, they're probably going to change a lot of things in the drama so i'm not gonna have much expectations and hopes for this. i do want this story and all of its characters to be done justice. the webtoon is pretty huge and well-known in Korea, so i'm excited but also nervous.
He will be starring as a supporting character in "My Perfect Stranger/Run Into You" set to air on January 2023! I'm happy to see him get more TV Drama roles. edit: it's been moved to May 2023!
He's going to have a guest role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo Episode 10! If I'm not mistaken, it's his first TV Drama appearance - and in a very popular one too! I'm super proud of him. So excited to see how far he'll go!
edit: it's been moved to May 2023!
