Just finished ep 1 and I’m literally kicking and squealing IT’S BEEN SOOOOO LONG SINCE A SHOW GOT TO ME LIKE…
Finished now and it was perfect!! A show this straightfoward could have easily gotten boring, but it was compelling the whole time because the main characters have a lot of unexpected depth! Watarai is magnetic, I love his intensity and conviction 😍 But he’s not just a cool guy, he can be a little shy and flustered. There are moments where he almost doesn’t believe in himself enough to try, but you can tell when he looks at Hioki, he suddenly has this drive to be his best self for Hioki. So romantic!! And Hioki is so lovely, usually I get a bit tired and frustrated with characters that are just going “EEH?? 😧” the whole time they’re on screen, but he has this subtle and natural progression into growing up a bit and learning to be more confident. Watarai’s attention, and gentle care, and his insinstence that Hioki is the only one for him, really helps him settle into his own skin and admit his own feelings. And he has such a sweet and emotive face, so easy to love!!

The script was already approved by the censorship committee years ago, otherwise we wouldn’t have been given the original release date in 2021. The delay is because of the blanket ban on bromance dramas, it’s not because of any specific issue with this drama.
So excited but also so confused, how is this airing?? I’ve heard it’s only airing internationally, not in China. But I thought there were rules about Chinese dramas having to air in China first…? Is that an old rule or just a rumour, or is this show airing through some loophole?
When this is all over and the show actually gets released, I feel like I won’t know what to do with my life 😅 Will probably still show up here every other day like “Hey guys remember our clowning days??” 🤡❤️
How many do we need in the petition for Netflix to pick this up?
Realistically… I’d guess an absolute minimum of 50,000 🥲 I don’t know if they’d be convinced to spend so much money without more of a buzz. Netflix original shows can get hundreds of millions of viewers, so they’d need some stronger guarantee that they’d get a similar profit off this show
