Does anyone else feel like the dystopian aspect isn't all that fleshed out? Or is it merely that as an international…
In all honesty i think they're calling it "dystopic" for two reasos: 1. explore freely the law (i think during the show they already mentioned 2 laws created in this dystopian world) 2. to avoid koreans complaining about the drama hurting the country's image lol
were yohan and his brother = incest?I forgot this maid arc..w hat was that about?
While revealing Isaac's and Yohan's past to Gaon, the housekeeper mentions a maid that feel in love with Yohan and he made her jump from the 2nd floor.
He is investigating tho? And tbh all evidences point out to Yohan.
Don't know about the korean law either, but i remember Yohan mentioning that Gaon and Jinjoo are there just for the visuals, to make the show more appealing to the public lol

From what we saw from him as a judge so far, i think his biggest weakness is that he's too emotional. In the first trial [although he was very assertive, his arguments were on point and very enlightening] you could see he was really angry at that scientist (hence Yohan stopping him from going further with the discussion). It's like Yohan says: it's an unfair game. And if Gaon likes to play by the rules, he needs to understand that bad people will get away and that's it. But i think this comes from an inexperienced place. Hopefully we'll get to see more of him as a judge to understand how his personality translates to his judge persona. We only got a small glance.

I think his weaknesses as a judge are not exactly these things considering what we saw so far (apart from the inexperienced part, which is a fact). I do think some of these things you said are fitting for him tho, just not for his judge persona (yet).

Gaon is perfect for a judge, tbh. He's 100% about the rules. About Yohan, i do agree with you. He's perfect for the whole circus the president is trying to do.

Yohan already is romanticized tbh. And Gaon trying to see good in everyone is the core of the character. That's why he still stands with Yohan after all. Any other person would've already dropped him. Unless the series decide to change and corrupt him as we move foward, i don't think he should change. But that's just a personal opinion xD

He doesn't think he is clever. Gaon is just doing what he was told to. By the end of this, Yohan should be the one learning a lesson. Almost everything about him is questionable. From killing people to being a corrupt judge.

I do. And yet, everything fits together. From the childhood incidents (told by the priest AND the maid), to his motivation (told by his own family AND Sunah). Then he suddenly finds out the detective that investigated the fire dropped the case and paid his debts (and this shows he's investigating and we'll get to see more of that). On top of that, Gaon has yet to see Yohan giving him the benefit of the doubt with his attitudes. So far he saw Yohan interfering in trial evidence, abusing his power, planting evidence, using his power to follow a personal agenda, open fire against a desperate person and that whole dinner situation. And YET, i do believe still sees good on him.
