Can someone explain something to me? I was a bit confused during the latest episode
I didn't understand the scene with Yake giving the husband the embroidered satchel she had in that box. From what I understand, Yake didn't actually make the satchel and her maid did, and the husband knew that she didn't make it which is why he got irritated. But then why did he go to his mother after that scene and ask her not to interfere? I know the mom said she'd retaliate for Yake humiliating her maid, but it didn't seem like she'd done anything to warrant her son asking her to give Yake a break. I don't know if I missed a scene or something.

Also did this girl just sell her father's incredibly valuable texts, so valuable that it was a suitable gift for a CROWN PRINCE, for a rinky dinky censer?? 😭 There's no way
Ya Ke's feeling of inferiority when it comes to Tingyun is wild to watch. She definitely had a disadvantage when it comes to family status and wealth, but Ya Ke currently has the upper hand and still spends so much of her time in discontent, comparing herself and trying to almost become Tingyun. Despite securing her future with that massive betrayal, she still struggles to match Tingyun.

When his hands started shaking in that flashback when he found out they were buying stolen salt from Jiuweijiao is when I knew he was real af lol. Finally a ML who is afraid of death and knows when running makes infinitely more sense than getting some of your men killed while you aura farm
PSA: Just because you don't like a character doesn't mean they're poorly written. It's kinda sad to me that whenever we finally get a male lead that isn't mean, stoic, or domineering this is how ya'll react. Zhao Ling is crafty, street smart, and, most notably, has a soft spot for suffering, which he HAS to have if he's supposed to be the kind of man who dissolves salt for commoners and keeps a child adequately cared for. It's both a strength and a weakness. Ya'll want him to be mean to the FL so bad and that's just not the character they've written. It's ironic that people are saying he's dumb and the writing is unbalanced because he doesn't possess the unnatural perfection a lot of other MLs have. I'd argue he's a better written ML than the majority of them
Also if her family is willing to murder, especially someone as precious as a grandchild, to preserve their reputation, they should've had that energy for the auntie widow! Where was her cup of poison as soon as she tried to ruin that Flower Goddess ritual with those explicit pictures??
The show is captivating so far. Interested in seeing how the FL navigates this fall from grace since chastity seems so important to the family values. ML is almost like a Robin Hood type which is pretty cool. He's a criminal but clearly has morals and showed so much more regard for her reputation and future than a lot of MLs do
There are 36 episodes, and only four have aired, this drama has a fairly large cast with many side characters,…
Unfortunately with cdramas this kind of complaining is inevitable. You could completely remove the FL from the show entirely and they'd still hallucinate one just to have something to be upset about lol
I like that they actually show us what the plot of the drama they're filming is. I've watched a couple dramas about actors where I spend most of it like wtf is this movie even about? 😂

I'm not arguing with you? I'm saying that while it was a dumb idea, he was probably in denial because it was basically a suicide mission. It was a rough situation to be in so I feel for him. By shouldered some of the pain, I meant the actual spell from the forbidden book that he used to take some of the pain of removing the fox spirit

He was pretty foolish for believing the old man, but at the same time from his perspective, they're just weak trainees compared to the old man. In any normal scenario, the old man solos all six of them, let alone three. I can see why he hoped that if he just cooperated and shouldered some of the pain, he'd be able to save both Li Fei and his brother
