You add to this the magistrate interpretation of Hang Ting by Xu Kai, it explains why it had performed so well in 2024 which was the most viewed drama for Mago TV in 2024. That's why 40 episodes may not be even enough for most of us who appreciated these themes... which can't be understood by simple minded critics like yourselves in my estimation 😁😁😁

MYZ was half a demon cuz he was the son of the prior Cat lord, a demon. He didn't know it so his demon skills never got developed. WZ became half a demon cuz 18 years ago in that night when Gui Yin wanted the revolt to take over the 2 worlds, the prior cat lord gave her the Cat power as she held MZY's lantern. Remember that the lord cat told her nothing was free and that she had to pay a price for returning to life, the prior cat lord didn'thave the energy to kill GY as he was dying so the only way to save the world was to conceal GY's core within WZ.. So MZY went back to the past cuz he wanted to know what happened on that night and also to see how the cat lord had sealed Gui Yin in WZ so he can unseal it and take it into himself. But then, he met his father the cat lord so he helped him to do that (i supposed cuz his father explained it to him and he said there must a way to save her. That's how WZ got all cured and had no more things on her body. WZ was going to die if MZY didn't take the QY out. MZY needed to die because on that day, QY was going to be reborn per say as it was a special night. That's why all of his collegues and everybody was trying to contain his evil energy because the mouse demon found his old material/energy and if GY were to get back his core out of MZY, then that woukd be the end of the 2 worlds. So MZY asked WZ to kill him with his sword given to him by his master. She was the only person besides him that can use that sword. So WZ stabbed him and killed him. Now, there was a plant demon (the all powerful plant that can cure all things) he gave himself to MZY and told him that someday it might be helpful for him...which it did. So that's how MZY survived. It's all explained but it can be lost in translation.

You sould probably give it another chance instead of dropping ALP after its first episode...it's one of the best Xianxia dramas out there.... it has 3 stories or 3 periods. The stories were so good. Most people liked the 2nd period over the 1st one...but i preferred the 1st one and the 3rd. XK was so😍😍😍 handsome in this drama.

It's a great drama in my opinion. Of course, XK didn't disappoint and he always looked handsome in all of his dramas. The drama was really fun to watch for me cuz it had drama, humors, actions, fictions, etc. I loved it.

The core of the main demon (Ah Shu's boss, the one wanting to destroy the human and demon worlds to combine under one for his own dominium, was kept in WZ. MZY absorbed it within him and eventually WZ killed it whe she killed MZY's the human. WZ ended being a full (when she awoke in HZK MZY's place of training). MZY was half my understanding but I plan to rewatch to get them cleared ☺️

@Manjilparajuli: Yes, Xu Kai is one of the popular young actors in China, was envied because of his looks at least in his earlier startup years. He's the male lead actor of the 95 era who has accumuladed the most views as aML as of September of 2025 (and probably still is), some 28 billions+. That's why he's been a target of black marketing among other reasons in the Chinese entertainment.

Traveling back to the past was a way for him to know what happened and to get the demon. He got that idea from the library when he took the FL to his place of training which was a very advanced place as far as knowledgeto combat demons is concerned. It was something very dangerous and the possibility of success was very low. I can't remember what it was said so he can only do that to save the FL. Bear in mind, this drama is fictional (demons and humans, demons from ink, to plants, animals, etc, that is, anything can culture themselves to have human forms. So it's really a fictional drama and as such anything can happen. Remember the movie Back to the Future a long time ago? ...so, it's the samething, any drama or fictional are such...whether it'd make sense or not😄. So, I'd say that one can do is just enjoy it w/o much deeply rationalize it.
