You are weird as heck for that. Belle is literally a teenager a kid and nalin is a grown women. Did you ship the…
The show never painted Nalin and Belle as the ideal couple, they even clearly showed that Nalin is against PDF. So why would the show cancel that out again by showing NalinBelle?? If you're referring to the moment where it's unclear whether or not Nalin is going to act on Belle's advances, that is LITERALLY a plot device. That's the suspension for us to see whether or not Nalin is a truly principled person, which, turns out, she is. So I don't see how the show PROMOTES the pedophilia at all? They're just mentioning it. Also, Idk if the person deleted the comment but I can't see who said they're an adult attracted to teenagers so...?
And btw in every fandom there will be ppl who ship characters that shouldn't be together and ofc irl that wouldn't be alright, but at the end of the day, this is all fiction and we should just get on with our lives. It's important to call PDFs out irl, but over a fan discussion on a MDL page... anyway, we seem to have different standpoints on how to interact with fellow users on this page. That's fine.
I'm so damn exciteddd!! I've rewatched s1 three times and now we're told to "stay june" so we can probably hope to get a teaser or trailer this month maybe heheh

I'm not saying we shouldn't fight against it bc WE SHOULD, but not showing the ugly underbelly of our world and denying that things like pedophilia, misogyny, any form of violence etc. etc. exist, would be lying to ourselves. So, imo it's realistic to show even the ugly things, bc art and media are supposed to make ppl think and it's supposed to be controversial, not pretty and amazing all the time. That's the true purpose: it's supposed to make ppl rethink societal norms and structures. So I think by criticising a series for doing exactly that and then calling someone who just commented on that a PDF is not the right approach here in my honest opinion. Also, I never mentioned that we should let ppl say slurs?? WTH
They set the bar quite high with this series. Other companies should take note
IKR when I was anticipating the release of Shades I already knew it was gonna be a banger, but I thought there'd be a bigger audience tbh. I hope more people will see this show so that other companies can follow this standard!
I NEED JANENANO LIKE RIGHT NOW. (Also, on a side note: everyone is caring about Nalin and Belle but I see no one gaf about Amy and Sophie and whatshername lmao what's going on??)

While I think it's 100% wrong to ship an adult with a teenager, it is unfortunately part of the reality we live in and we should face even the shitty parts of it all :/ I wish they had included it less in this series, but still you calling some user a PDF on this website is taking it a bit too far imo, let's all just enjoy the series together without insulting
I'm not sure if Seven Seas already published a translation, but I know that someone did publish it officially, but as far as I remember the one on NU is not too bad actually :) edit: Hai Tang Books apparently has one
I think this drama is definitely on the more tender, youthful side with the slow development and realisation of feelings for the main couple. The cinematography is stunning, transmitting this very warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgic summer romance, the colouring is gorgeous. The silent shots where little glances linger for too long, fingers brush and the scenery and light are just right, are really the scenes that kinda save this drama for me, because while Yu Lei and Chen Ke's romantic development is definitely natural, they could've cut the whole fillers and back and forth with the friend zoning. Chen Ke is literally frustrated to the point of retreating and even going abroad. If that's not a wake up call for Yu Lei then idk what could be. I think if they had given us more than just 8 eps, this could've been very well-rounded and balanced with a fun side couple (LOVE THEM). Instead my high hopes were kinda let down in the last few eps. I wish they had given up on the whole "we're best friends" thing and cut to the chase a tad bit earlier, this could've been perfect!
Ouyang was absolutely right about YuLeis feelings. YuLei is in complete denial lol more that heās unaware of…
Definitely! Yu Lei is in denial and Chen Ke is frustrated and is retreating into his shell, pushing Yu Lei away (or at least the idea of a romantic relationship between them). This just draws the story out unnecessarily imo :/ this could've worked if we'd have had more than just 8 eps, but I'm afraid they might cram it all into the finale (it better be good).
Though I understand that the series is trying to show the main couple exploring their feelings but kissing lips…
I have to agree. I love me some young sweet love (and I think they definitely did that part very well) but it got kinda draggy and the romance fell kinda flat in the last few episodes with the prolonged friend zoning due to fillers and them not being able to express their feelings openly. The second couple was more straightforward, especially since Ouyang Han is very aware and secure in his identity as a gay man. And Li Ming is apparently more reflected than Yu Lei since he grasped and acted on his attraction to Ouyang fairly quickly (thought they didn't sacrifice the lead up to the romance THANK GOD).
funny how a series can move from 9.5 to 8 within a split of a second!!.. I don't know but maye I set the bar too…
Yeah, while I still really love the cinematography and tender romance, I guess in the last few episodes, the value definitely dropped since they dragged it for no apparent reason... the fillers kind of pulled this down for me a lot. I had insanely high hopes for this since ep. 1 and I guess a lot of it was fulfilled but many parts did indeed fall flat!
Thereās something quietly special about Feel What You Feelāit doesnāt try too hard, and thatās exactly…
I had the same exact feeling about this drama! I think the cinematography really underscores the vibe of youthful, nostalgic summer romance: tender, sweet and with organic development. The camera settings and colouring make this feel so cozy yet refreshing. I agree with you on the subtleness of the acting! It makes it feel more believable in comparison to a random, loud declaration of love in this situation.
I don't get people saying the main couple doesn't have chemistry. I can feel their attraction and the way one…
Very true. I think the development of their relationship is definitely very natural, but I guess since they're both on the shy/ cautious side and not as confident with the expression of their feelings (and for some part not even fully aware) it's just more tender than the side couple. I think this could've worked well if they hadn't dragged it as much or at least added more episodes, bc the chemistry was definitely there!
