My sleeping schedule will hate me because, after just finishing the first episode, I plan to binge the rest of them. This is absolutely hilarious so far. LYT is doing an amazing job. Great casting! This type of drama isn't usually my cup of tea, but I'm loving it so far. Hopefully they don't mess it up in the middle.
I guess for the brother, it's kind of logic he would say that because he never really knew her (just saw her at…
It's easy to want peace when you know what it's like. His mom and sisters never had that luxury. He's still young so he might realize later on that QY was right, but men who get raised like that become a problem for some unlucky woman in the future (e.g. his dad). Also, in my opinion, men absolutely understand, but simply don't care.

If I read an article about a young woman going through all of that, let alone my sister, I would feel devastated for her and furious at everyone who mistreated her. Even if they didn't have the usual sibling bond, hearing everything she went through and how they talk about her now that she's gone, is something every moral human being would be affected by. However, men in that family get treated differently. He never suffered from gender discrimination and was even treated better just for being a boy. Everyone letting it go means "easier" life for him. He was taught to forgive and forget such things.
If I hear another "She's already dead.", I'll go crazy. How in the world can you say that about your child, sister, and grandchild? How is BY the bad one and not all of them?
Her dad is the worst of them all. He has no issues with yelling and being aggressive towards those weaker than him, but will stand there with his tail between his legs whenever his family says something. And then he dumps all of his emotions onto his already traumatized daughter while admitting he's a loser. Instead of doing something about it, he picks up a bottle because that's easier. He says nothing will happen to her when they go back because of familial relation while his family members scream how his other daughter deserved to die. I can't wait for her to go to the university. She needs to get away from them at least physically...
That was a crazy first episode. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I'm definitely sticking around because I'm intrigued. According to the description I read, FL is a capable woman, so hopefully we see a lot of that.
I absolutely loved seeing him in a state of panic. For him that just begun, but BY was feeling it for years. Whatever awaits each member of that family, they deserve it.
I'm so glad QY has MS. Her mental health would become even worse without him. Light, whether natural or artificial, whenever he appears around her is such a nice representation of his role in her life.
Frankly, except for the FL and her brother, they should all be burned, and the first to deserve to be burned are…
As much as I dislike her mom and disagree with her way of handling things, I do think she's also a victim. She isn't inherently bad, she became the way she is as a consequence of all the suffering and injustice. Qiao family would be the way they are regardless of things they encounter. I'm not defending her or justifying her actions, but I do have some incentive to look at things from her viewpoint. With so much trauma and getting no breaks, it's hard to be a good parent.
The rage I was feeling during that family dinner almost made me lose my mind, so I can only imagine how QY was feeling. "A wife is an outsider." Imagine saying that about a woman who not only risked her life to give birth to 3 kids, but also lost one of them because of her husband's family. A woman who works hard every single day while sick to support those kids. They should be glad she didn't set fire to all of their homes while they're sleeping. As a woman, it hurts me every time I see women like the ones in Qiao family who, instead of supporting each other, tear each other down for male approval. BY is yet another victim of such behaviour.
Hopefully the satisfaction we'll get from tomorrow's episode will override some of the frustration and sadness from those so far.
As other have said, ignore the rating and judge it yourself. It's such a good drama and very realistic. Each character has depth, acting is really good, story is interesting and engaging, pacing is well done, and it makes you feel so many different emotions. Unless they start changing things and adding filler scenes, which I doubt will happen mainly due to number of episodes, it'll end up on my favorite dramas ever list. I'm eagerly waiting for each new episode because they seem to end so fast. I never feel the need to fast forward.
So I guess it's the cousin and not the uncle? Or maybe uncle knew something and is involved in another way? This is so messed up. Plus, based on her mom's behaviour so far, once the FL gets to the bottom of it, she will not stand by her side, but be against her. I hope she makes genuine friends besides ML because she'll need them...
I've just finished the 4th episode and it's amazing so far. I love how layered each character is, it makes it real. When it comes to her mom, as much as I try to understand her, I can't support her behaviour. Despite my parents not really being like that, I'm from a culture where sons can never do wrong while there are many expectations and restrictions set for daughters. It's changing with the new generations, but it still exists. The depiction of such dynamic is very well done and equally as infuriating as it is when witnessed in real life. I'm also glad so many different important topics are being shown. From AIDS, to bullying, to parent-child relationships, financial difficulties and how it affects education and students' school experience etc.
ZJY, as always, is doing an amazing job. I'm so glad she got this role. I think her character development will be interesting to watch. Hopefully by the end we see her happy.
I can't believe they've made a short drama in which the FL isn't getting constantly abused by everyone, especially ML. She even defends herself when she is and is reasonable. Even jealousy and potential conflicts get resolved in a much better and mature way. Chemistry is also really good. One of the best short dramas that I've seen.
Honestly, since the first disappointment and deciding I would finish this and not take it seriously, those kissing scenes are now humorous to me. I'm kind of getting excited to see what they'll do next. Show two birds or horses, blind us with strong light, do some kind of animation of their characters kissing, make him hold her face and kiss his own hand, etc. Options are endless lol
I went to look up KSH to see if he has any projects going on and I find this! I'm so excited we get to see them as a couple. This might bring me back to kdramas.
I love action romances, so I was excited for this one...
