This is still one of my favorite dramas. I occassionally rewatch it, either due to remembering it on my own or seeing a who knows what tweet by now about how JH should have been with YJ. Why in the world would he get with a woman who does so many things that go against his morality? A woman he has seen do incredible evil? Even if he does understand her, that doesn't mean he has to accept her. He's an empath and also needed her to achieve his goal. He wants a peaceful life with someone who would never make the type of decisions YJ has. He would also probably never feel fully at ease with her or his decision to be with her. I love that he and AN found each other and ended up together. They both needed such person in their life.
I understand she wants more verbal reassurance, but he has done everything he could for her considering his current and past circumstances. He even told her to give him some time. She wants them to be equals, to help one another, for it not to be only him sacrificing himself because it feels burdensome. However, their situation isn't just everyday life and usual relationship problems. This is literal life or death situation she keeps putting herself into and knows without shadow of a doubt he will give his life for her (she even said she wants a man who would burn the world for her). He keeps telling her that, but she refuses to see it and keep herself safe or at least not constantly put herself in harms way. She's not police or military, she can't do absolutely anything once they actually come after her. She knows that, she knows CY has trauma and usings meds, yet here we still are. I don't think her emotions and wants are invalid, or that she also wasn't traumatized as a child, but since she keeps insisting on how much she has changed, and she is an intelligent woman, she should have realized that her approach isn't leading towards desired result.
I haven't watched a lakorn in years and I randomly looked up Mint just to find this! I'm so excited they paired them up again. I'll definitely be watching this!
I can't wait for this, especially after seeing the trailer. I missed ZZY and absolutely love her styling in this. I have been wanting her to do such characters.
Every single actor in mini dramas (maybe even short and long) should go get lessons from these two on how to do proper kiss scenes. I hope they have more projects together!
I love every director that puts so much attention to hands. To me, it's one of the best things during intimacy/romance scenes. ML taking the first step, but being a bit taken aback when the FL not only responded, but took it further was so hot. Instead of doing the usual thing, showing his eyes wide open, they portrayed it with his hands. Such details make a lot of difference in my opinion. Can't wait for the next episode!
I'm devouring the novel currently, I have a few chapters left, and this will be my first time reading a novel before watching the drama. Hopefully it was the right decision and I won't be annoyed when they exclude things I consider to be important or simply really enjoyed. Also, let's pray to drama gods they don't censor it too much because it gets steamy towards the end!
I love the conversations they're having about marriage. I really hope her "benefit" thought process leads to them discussing what her position, rights, and power would be in their household, how he would make sure she's not being bullied, how she would continue working on her business, and how marriage with someone in his position wouldn't endanger her lifestyle. He spoke about how it benefits him, I hope he also has an answer to how it benefits her, beyond him liking her.
I love their chemistry, it seems like the second half of the drama will be really good!
Some of the best and most natural intimacy (from hand holding to more intense moments) scenes in short dramas that I've seen. I hope they work together again!
Oh how I love when love is shown so naturally. They look so happy and comfortable with each other. Nothing is forced or cringy. They really picked the perfect pair of actors to portray these characters. I'll definitely rewatch this several times!
It ended so I can finally start watching. People have been raving about it all over my tl so I'm really hoping it's as good as I've heard. I love other Gu Man adaptations so my expectations are high.
Binged all episodes and I'm loving it. I was a big fan of Forbidden Flower so I was really excited about this one. It hasn't disappointed so far. The screenwriter/director should be getting all the funding she needs to keep giving us dramas.
By the way the things are currently going, she'll end up having a higher rank than him. XJ might become a kept man (I doubt he would mind lol). Btw we MUST get the bts of that kiss!
