I can help you with the free manga thing(it's a bit complicated so you might actually prefer to buy them online ig lol) 1. So you can read the manga for free on Palcy app (japan, official app) but it might be hard for u to do that. So I downloaded QooApp and got the Palcy app through that. Palcy gives u free passes throughout the day and u can use it to read the manga(they even gave u 30coins which can be used to read 30 chapters). The downside to this is you can't screenshot the app to use image to translate. But for that I got the bluestacks emulator for my PC and I can just screenshot from that. 2. If you have vpn you can switch to japan and read some of the chapters for free here https://comic.pixiv.net/works/6351 For me I mixed to see what this site has and read the ones that are here from it and the rest I used Palcy passes. it's not his dad, it's a caretaker from the orphanage that he and rion grew up in. (but he is definitely a father figure to him) It seems like he was framed tbh. AFAIK the kids they r investigating are the ones who are involved in it

The literal origin of BL is from ppl writing fanfics of heterosexual characters being in platonic friendship. BL literally has no rules that state that two males have to confess their love to each other or more. As long as it's implied it is a BL. I also don't understand why people need to know if it's a BL or not tbh. Because they still have chemistry and doing whatever an usual BL would do so the classification literally does not matter tbh.

Implied-If your definition of 2 main characters fall in love and have some type of romantic relationship(ex-living together, caring for the other person, risking their lives for that person), then yes it's a BL. (Other examples are The untamed/Banana Fish). Not implied-If your definition of a BL is 2 characters saying they love each and have a lot of kissing scenes and more then no it's not a BL(So far) My definition for a BL is the first one so it is a BL to me. I have seen less chemistry and interactions from actually non implied BL's so yes this is absolutely a BL to me.

Thank you for this. I am so tired of reading the BL vs. Bromance discourse. That being said, I did find out about this drama from bl twitter and i just had a question if you don't mind it. Have you watched/read Banana fish? If you did would you say the drama is following the anime trajectory?(Or if the manga is similar vibe) Where it's marketed as bromance but u can tell that they were in love. If you haven't watched/read it feel free to ignore this lol.
