Unrelated but this is the reason why "Hospital Playlist 2" is still seated pretty in my "currently…
I think that's the big difference between western production and Asian ones. A lot of western one are geared towards multi seasons run. It is part of their DNA. Most K/J dramas are written with a clear start and end. The best plot ideas are in the first season. Sure, you might be able to stretch the odd one out to multiple seasons, but you will find they run out of steam fairly quickly. C-dramas, on the other hand, are in a league of their own. ;) 80 eps was a thing before the system clamped down on it. ;)
I literally needed a review like yours to start this drama! kinda reluctant about Kdramas these days..
Thank you for your kind words.π I totally understand your dilemma. Been there and done that. I have started several shows and groaned because the A-plot is just tropey slop. π«£ Well, let me paraphrase the popular catchphrase. "I watched this for you, chingu. So that you don't have to!" π€£π
I agree with almost everything in your review. What I like is the assessment of the SML, because I so go along…
Yes! That's exactly how I felt. :) I don't find him handsome neither. He even rejected his co-worker who is every bit as good as the FL. His neighbour is too entitled so there is no great lost there. Can you imagine him live the rest of his life like that? So self destructive. Let it go, dude. :(
Just finished my first Sageuk drama " The Story of Parkβs Marriage Contract" and absolutely loved it.…
OBTW, I won't discount this drama. It is not that bad. I gave it an 8, but it does have issues. I would suggest you sample a few eps and see if you like it. ;)

Sorry for the late reply. I was asleep. ;) Ok, I'm no expert in Sageuk dramas. You can go high fantasy with gods and time travel to very historical "accurate" ones. Then you have farcical shows vs really angsty ones. I usually stay away from the super angsty ones. ;) A few suggestions then; Mr Queen, Bossam - Steal Your Fate, Bon Appetit Your Majesty and Splash Splash Love. There are many more but I don't want to open an Pandora's Box without knowing your tastes.
