IMO yoon ji seok is worst than woo sung hee. Atleast i can understand the motivation behind her actions (not that it justifies her actions) to some extent. She is doing all this for revenge.... bcz of what the director did to her but this man, my god he is so pathetic, he is like a teenager who has gotten hurt by the fact that his crush doesn't feel the same about him and he is throwing tantrums, spreading rumors in retaliation because that's all he can do atp to satisfy his ego. All those years they worked together means nothing to him now.
Forget fl, I doubt any woman in this world would ever like such a guy.
Tongrak’s creative block felt like a stubbed toe compared to the trauma from his family. Despite his wealth and fame, all he truly wanted was to love and be loved. On the island, he met Mahasamut and fell head over heels into the ocean of love. It might have seemed like he bought love with money, but in reality, Mahasamut’s tender care healed him, like the gentle embrace of a soothing sea.
Rak had always used money to keep his relationship with Mut transactional, a way to maintain control and keep his heart closed. Mut, with his deep understanding, accepted this. As Lucid’s insightful comment points out, when Mut asked Rak to give their relationship a try, he spoke Rak’s language, breaking down his defenses. This subtle yet powerful moment marked the beginning of Rak opening up to Mut and starting to consider staying.
Mahasamut, strong and independent, had never asked anything of his parents. Yet, he set aside all his pride to beg Tongrak not to leave the island. In his tears and Tongrak’s comforting smile, he found healing too, as if he were finally floating in calm waters. And let’s be real, when a guy sets aside his ego and begs, you know it’s true love—no rom-com script needed.
Their journey shows that love can mend even the deepest wounds, tapping into their emotional resilience and capacity for vulnerability. Sometimes, all you need is a little island magic and a lot of heart.
This steamy Thai BL feels like the lyrics of a pop song—full of passion, longing, and the kind of love that makes you believe in happy endings. It’s a tale as whimsical as a beachside sunset and as poetic as a summer love song.
Rak: What's up Phi?
P: Where are you? I came to see you and there's nobody home?
Rak: I went to the countryside to write my novel.
P: Dad didn't call you?
Rak: No... Has dad called you?
P: No. But Meena has seen her grandfather near the school.
Rak: She probably saw wrong.
P: Do you think so? Hasn't Dad come to kidnap his granddaughter? Why would he have come then? Why hasn't he called neither you nor me? If something happened to Meena, what would I do? I... don't want to send Meena to school.
Rak: Phi, calm down. If Dad calls you, tell him to call me. I'll take care of it.
P: Rak, compared to me father scares you more. [ the meaning implied here is that their father is more inclined to do something harmful to Rak than to his sister, hence he's more frightening]
Rak: Phi Kwan, Don't stress about it, don't worry about me. The person you should be worried about now is not me but Meena. If you're being weak, what is Meena going to feel? She's a smart kid. If she sees/meets her grandfather again, tell her to quickly make a run for it and call me.
P: Hmm.
Rak: Trust me. [Literally "Believe in me" but in that context "trust" works better]
P: I trust you. [Literally " I believe in you" but in that context "trust" works better]
[This is a mix of Korean and Thai translation by the way here since the Korean translation was a bit amiss so I don't know how it's been translated in English]
Hope it's the last conversation this time.
EDIT: TEXT MESSAGE ( sigh)
Tongrak: I'm going to work nonstop, you don't need to come tomorrow.
( The expression used here is ปั่นงาน which is slang and implies he's gonna work without rest to finish his work as soon as possible)
EDIT 2 Text message (33mn 55s):
Kanmook: Phi Rak, Do you know about your friend yet?
Kanmook: Phi Vi, is being really cruel to me... like A LOT!
Kanmook: How could she think of calling me to wake me up at 5?
Kanmook: It's 5 (am)! Not 5PM!
Kanmook: Then she told me to get her something at Nakhon Pathom. ( A city located about 58km northwest of Bangkok)
Kanmook: Nakhon Pathom, Phi Rak... People on the other direction from my house ( not sure about this sentence. Checked in Korean and they translated it as " It's on the opposite direction from my house " which makes more sense but is not exactly what was written in Thai so I'm sticking with the literal translation)
Kanmook: She said I'm the only one who's got the card to enter her room.
Kanmook: Should I do anything and everything (for her) as well?
( This sentence is a bit ambiguous in English so I stuck with the (almost) literal translation but a more natural translation would be: " I shouldn't be catering to her every whim like that.")
Kanmook: I'm your secretary, not her's.
Kanmook: You understand me right? Phi Rak.
Kanmook: Right?
Rak: I don't understand.
[CAN'T THEY JUST SHUT UP NOW!]
Rak: I'm not you. How can I understand you?
[ GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS I'm tired. Everytime I think it's finished, it starts again]
Rak: Because I've yet to understand why I came here in the first place.
Last Phone conversation:
?: No Way! What shouldn't be shouldn't be done! You must come back today!
Rak: Ok, ok. I'll come back today. Ok?
...
Doubt I'll do the same if we have the same issue in future episode. I'm y'all but it's really too long I don't have that much time nor am I that passionate about this show to bother.
Yes, Rak father seems a big problem.
And I totally agree that Rak is so different from Sky.
I saw the reuters during FYH filming so I was looking out for what role she'll have. Her look and demeanor are different here so it's totally understandable why you couldn't place her at first. 😁
I've watched enough of investigative historical cdramas to say that this one is clipping away nicely.
I like Song Yi as YNX because she doesn't overact nor underact even from JOL1 to Destined and till now. In this drama, her character is smart, resourceful, and plucky. She has certain intonations here which makes her sound so cute. If you are not a fan of her voice here, don't watch her in Louyang coz her "Er Lang" will drive you nuts! Haha!
Luo YunXi as JXB is refreshing to watch in this genre. He was really good in the fight scenes. I was especially impressed with the archery fight sequence in the reeds/tall grass. He was adorable in the clingy drunken scene. Good to see LIS' Su Chang and TTEOTM's Si Ying reunited with their boss. 😂
The witty banter between YNX and JXB was fun to watch. Their bond/relationship is shaping up already.
In 2015, I watched the OG Kmovie The Beauty Inside (with gorg Han Hyoo Joo) that the Kdrama was based on, and that one was very poignant but too short to fully explore the implications of the fantasy elements of the story. I am not sure if FYH will touch more on the complexities of YNX shapeshifting - not just as a comedic element but as a way to challenge socially dictated norms/gender stigma - like her being perceived as a "loose woman". That tavern scene and succeeding night flute scene were handled beautifully by Song Yi and Xixi.
Looking forward to more of our main CP and the introduction of other characters. 💕
Tong would be in so many huge debts cause of his extravagant lifestyles.
Tong would regret marrying Ming sister cause he thought she is the one in charge of the family fortune cause she's the elder.
Tong might try to seduce Ming thinking Ming is still CRAZY over him.
Lemme say no more 😊
Mahasamut- “Ai Kom. As Khun Connor’s boyfriend do you know if Khun Tongrak’s having any work issues?”
Kom- “No idea, but Connor says work’s not the issue”
Mah- “Explain”
Kom- “He says P’ Rak’s handling work well, but something else’s more concerning”
Kom- “He won’t say more”
Kom- “Connor says if you’re curious about P’ Rak, find it out yourself”
