Great drama. Just watch it. Yang Zi is amazing there. Her character is cute, bubbly, fun but get full angsty later on. She was so good there.

Also two cast in TTEOTM also played in AoL. LYX and Wang Yi Fei.

Japanese ban stuff mostly for Shinto hat or ceremonial costume . If it mixed or fusion, kinda okay I guess. As long it is not offensively Japanese.

In general :

- 40 episodes max. They can split into two parts but they need wait 6 months apart for airing part two. It is not great idea overall because drama will lost hype and steam. So they rather cut it into 40 ep.
- Time travel from modern time to historical not allowed anymore. Somehow it is still allowed if it happening in same era. Transmigration not allowed. Reincarnation is allowed.
- No foreign influence on costume drama especially Japanese. Modernization and stylish costume still allowed. Back than they start slips in some Japanese influence and ppl kinda let it go. But Queen Lau took it to the next level and it was massive controversy.
- There is no restriction on duration of episode yet. But doesn't mean they can put 2 hour duration. 60 min probably max.
- Cut scene is unclear. We don't know if it director decision or else. Because 40 ep rule ofc drama that planned for 60 ep need to be cut. But newest drama made for 40 ep in mind such TSL.
-General restriction such nudity, excessive violence, gore and religion sensitive topic.
- BL do not allowed to airing anymore. Even if they are disguise it with brotherhood or whatever. Every BL dramas shelved forever and company suffers a lost.

Thanks God. TTJ toned down in drama. I can't imagine have sympathy over insane dude that caressing dead body.

After all chaos, angsty and sadness, current EP feels like wake up from nightmare. It is so chill with warm characters. TTJ finally can find a place where he is accepted.

Cause we audience is third person view and we always know what she think. But for character in the drama, they don't know what her thought. YBC really good conceal her wickedness.

It is not his grandma but task given by Immortal sect to comfort some random granny. From this TTJ also learn something precious about life.

What I like about xianxia is when they introduced something on early arc than become important on later arc. Initially It seems pointless and have no connection but interconnected on later arc. Dream arc established Immortal arc, lot of lore and things suddenly connected.

TTJ become immortal because Divine essence that LSS barter for his devil bone. But it is get weaker overtime . YQY have long longevity because Pian Ran gave her demon soul to ressurrect him and he is the one become Jin king for 500 years . Since TTJ incident left Jin Kindom and burnt himself, Jin King always wearing a mask to conceal their self but it is always been YQY all along.

That was old news. No one cares anymore.

So far some does looks sus but some of those things are just generic looking demon, house and crystal.

It is also possible same artist working on those two projects. My guess some concept artist in TTEOTM team took inspiration from so many things. YZW gold green costumes is just coincidentally similar, design wise is so different. YZW also wielding green emerald bow. It is possible both also inspired by same historical costume or historical art. You can't sue people over color similarity. Some of those claim also can be easily rejected. No one can copyright pose, shape or color.

That's kinda dumb. So everyone can be Devil Lord? So what's the purpose LSS went back in time? My guess there is still left over Devil Bone but it is weakened tremendously and they need to beat him on final confrontation.

Some Buddhist will be complaining. They don't want Buddha or Bodhisatva featured in any pop culture or idol dramas. Unless drama adaptation from classic such Journey to The west.

But I agree though with OP. Buddha always been overpower in xianxia. They were above the Gods and can fix any problems. It will be better if you write xianxia without Them anyway.

There are some valid criticism as well for this drama. We discussed and complained same things here. Like LYX makeup occasionally cakey , choppy editing and excessive blood spit that borderline meme. It also have so many cliche samey old xianxia things. TSL is way smoother and unique in comparison.

But well I also can't deny about review bomb . It same thing everywhere. It is respective website moderators job to remove invalid reviews.

Super Mario Bros movie is successful but news about it is just critics trashing it. People just think too much. TTEOTM still a xianxia idol drama that aimed for teenager and young demographic. Usually such popular teenager show/movie always guarantee attract some haters. See Harry Potter and Twilight.
