I personally do think the pacing is bit fast, just one or two more episodes would have justified their relationship…
I generally wish the series had more episodes because I love it and I'm greedy and I want MORE!! Haha!
I don't know whether a slower relationship development would have been better or just different. Given the limited episodes that they have, and all the plot and drama they need to get through, I guess they literally didn't have the time to take things slower.
there are lots of male exes in this story (chita's and ken's). i think we can have at least one bisexual (dr ji)…
The ex / person he loved is the person who died approximately 200 years ago which is why Ken has been trying to kill himself. However, I don't recall that they stated the gender of the ex.
Regarding the complaint that the pacing is too fast: My take is that they are both not exactly emotionally stable and mature, reasonable adults.
I mean, Ken's hobby is exploring new and creative ways to remove himself from this world. And James shot his lover just to prove a point (and then smirked and presented "yeah, but I didn't hit any vital organs" as a perfectly valid excuse).
So, instead of applying "normal people rationale", I rather assume "unhinged reasoning" to their relationship. This way I can totally see how a coincidental spark ignited both of their fires to burn hotter than hell.
I also enjoy very slow slow burns. But this is just not a slow burn story. It's a "Hey, I just met you. And this is crazy. But let's go up in flames together!" kind of story. And I really enjoy that too.
It was kinda fast, but it's been over a month since James got there (you can tell by other people's comments,…
Golden Blood and Revamp are two recent ones, but there are some others.
Bitefight is over 10 years old and from China before censorship kicked in.
Some others are Kissable Lips (stupid ending), My Secret Vampire (also pretty recent, that one is actually pretty good for a short low budget series if you can overlook the horrible AI) Red Wine in the Dark Night (very serious theme and somewhat "artsy" movie, very low rating, few people get that it's a metaphor for child abuse), 1000 Years Old (which I quite enjoyed it because I like this type of silliness. Most people seemed to be disappointed with the lack of NC which isn't a major criteria for me.)

Yeah, after the first episode, I said to a friend that I expect this to be a typical storyline of immortal trying to die falling in love just when he finds a way to do so.
What I can't guess yet, is whether the other Nour will turn into a threat, and Ken will actually need to fight for his survival. or whether he will only have to face the "now or (maybe) never" choice.
This series has been doing well with tropes. It's actually the first really good vampire BL I've seen. And I think I've seen them all apart from Bitefight and Sweet Blood. So, if they should bring a reincarnation twist into this after all, I'm optimistic they'll handle it well. :)

I have no complains about the pacing. I love a good slow burn but I can also roll with a couple that immediately catches on fire and burns hotter than hell ;-)
It all depends whether it makes sense for the series and the characters, and to me it all fits very well here.
Generally, I'm quite surprised how well this series is done. For example, I appreciate that even side characters have some layers instead of being one note.

Agreed. For sure they'll have to go through the crisis and trample our hearts in the process.
I just hope that it will all be dealt with in the upcoming episode. Because I'm expecting that they'll have some other relationship crisis to go though. Ken believes that he's already found and lost his true love a couple of centuries ago. James might or might not be a reincarnation. I don't think there was any hint about it in the trailers? And of course the imbalance of a mortal and a suicidal immortal dating...
All the while they also have some killers to catch...

I think the pacing is right for the story that the series wants to tell. There are some series that pretty much have no other plot than the characters getting to know each other and eventually falling in love. In these series we often only get a first kiss in the second half of the series.
But Nour has a more complex story to tell. I don't think they have the time for a lot of moping about identities and not being upfront about them because they have all these other issues to get to.
I don't know if you have seen the trailer but I'm really looking forward to seeinng how their relationship and the story is going to unfold and the complexity of it all.
you should watch it… it’s really good, comforty and cute! We should keep supporting the rest of the cast and…
Unfortunately the behavior of fans can taint my experience with a show, so I think I prefer to come back to this when the fan wars have quieted down. Thanks anyway.
So here I came to the comments to read a bit about the series to decide whether I should start this next. But none of the comments are even about the series. Instead it's just pages and pages about some scandal involving someone from the cast and people taking sides. *sigh*
I guess I'm going to look for something else to watch for the time being and come back to this later...
The fact that you referenced Hitchhiker's Guide makes me want to watch this now! 😄
Sorry, I meant the intensity of KP = KinnPorsche. Kim and Chay were such a dramatic and almost tragic couple.
I guess many fans have this as their mental image of Jeff and Barcode and what they are getting here doesn't match that image at all.
The trailer for the Space Bakery has always been soft and comedic, yes.
I haven't yet watched Playboyy because I was on a BL break while it aired but I have an idea what it's like. Trash BL have had a fixed place in my heart for years, though.

It's low budget, sparkly and a lot of chaos. It's probably not what you normally expect from a BL, but it's so much fun.
I think the low ratings reflect fan's expectation after the intensity of KP. This series is the polar opposite. From the announcements it wasn't very clear how the series would turn out, so I get why people are surprised or disappointed.
But if you can be open towards the fun kind of trash and lots of crazy ideas, it's very enjoyable.
Do you guys know the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series from 1981 produced by BBC? This is veeery similar but gayer, and everyone just speaks whichever language they want.
I wasn't expecting hilarious trash but this is what they gave us and I LOVE it!
I imagine lots of fans will be disappointed but I'm embracing the nonsense and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Even when you're an adult, have experienced loss, changed jobs and careers, lost your virginity many years ago and don't have big dreams for the future anymore, there is still room for fresh beginnings, feeling butterflies in your stomach, discovering pop-sickles, trying new flavors, feeling shy, falling in love... You're never too gown up to experience novelty and magic. And this JBL is beautiful reminder of that.
I love how they portrayed Nakhun's bilinguality.. He thinks in Thai, but writes in English...
I thought he writes in English as a "secret code". Even if someone finds his notes, they won't be able to decipher them easily, so his "secrets" stay safe.
can i watch this without watching the other cp’s story? is their story still understandable?
Their story is complete without the other parts. In the previous parts they exchanged maybe one or two sentences, so there is no prior knowledge that this part builds on. You just won't know who their friends are and how the established couples started dating. However, this won't impact your understanding or your enjoyment of their story at all because the focus is really on them. You can just view the friends as any other random friend group in other series.

I really hope the heart break won't last a whole episode, otherwise how can I survive?
Porn is pretty much illegal in Korea, and as it doesn't seem like they produced this somewhere else, an unpixelated version is unthinkable.
Gaga has a whole section of softcore type productions, some working with angles, some working with blurs...
I guess I'm going to look for something else to watch for the time being and come back to this later...
