So I’ve watched the first 5 eps and it’s just okay. Does the show get more exciting for those of y’all still…
Here's my take on it. I enjoyed the 1st 12 episodes and then ep.13-19 was a blur because it wasn't going anywhere but it picked right back up from Ep.19-20. Honestly, the story isn't the best and is quite messy but what's keeping me going is the leads. It's not full force on romance as political palace issues/revenge are the main focus. The Crown Prince (my bias) is the character I stan from the beginning because of his layered character but it does take a while to see that being shown. So basically, it's mellow for me but I love the underlying mystery tone to the characters.
- The dynamic of LMX and Han Ye. I don't know about anyone else but these last 3 episodes have had me in awe with…
Oh most definitely! LMX knows Han Ye's a tough one to crack and with the ruthless kill, it threw him off like us viewers who would not expect it. I appreciate that he's not as bias as the last few episodes. It's unpredictable at this point what anyone of these characters will end being like to each other. And with the previews, I hope LMX and Han Ye have some type of closure.
I was relieved to see that at the beginning of ep. 30 people finally start to notice that Wen Shuo is missing.…
Lol. I was thinking of you when the fake sailed away. No more baths. 🤣 But I definitely agree about Anning. The confrontation with Mo Bei was overdue or poorly built up. Why did it take her this long to piece it all together?! I know it's someone she trusts but she clued in so quick at the end there. But I also laughed when he so easily just said, Yes I am the traitor! LOL. 😳 whatever happen to being composed and sneaky?
Episode 30 and 31 definitely feels like the calm before the storm. We've closed the chapter of Anle's justice…
- The dynamic of LMX and Han Ye. I don't know about anyone else but these last 3 episodes have had me in awe with how well LMX and Han Ye could work together. Han Ye has once again stunned LMX but I’d say he’s a worthy opponent. LMX may think he knows Han Ye well but he's on the same boat as us. They're both uniquely clever but can still match up to each other. This might also be why Han Ye was talking in circles to LMX in jail. He knew LMX would be clever enough to piece it together. And he sure did! I also loved how they both went in to present the fire case. So in sync! Honestly, LMX’s character was great in the beginning but now he’s confusing. When it comes to Anle, he’ll still be protective/jealous against Han Ye but with court affairs they’re best buds again. They're truly frenemies at best.
- Another brotherly duo moment. Wen Shuo being motivated from Han Ye's teachings to escape was moving. And then when he showed up at Anle's house calling her "Jie" I was about to tear up from that. Oh how I wish she knew already. 😭 Han Ye is the best father/brother figure to happen for Wen Shuo. Yuan Qin will be one lucky gal to try his cooking.
- Gong Jun and Dilireba have really been elevating the emotions for Han Ye and Anle. We got 2 special moments of them bidding farewell to each other. As they smile to each other, the pain beneath is unbearable. The reality of the relationship is what it is but we’ll see how fate turns things around for them.
Episode 30 and 31 definitely feels like the calm before the storm. We've closed the chapter of Anle's justice but we’re moving forward to the big arc that will redeem the rift between our leads and unite them as one, the war. And per the previews, it'll be one I'll be bracing myself for. However, these are some highlights I really loved in today's episodes:
I have been crying continuously my eyes are swollen. It was one of the most emotionally charged episodes. OMG,…
Yes! All the characters delivered with a closure part of the story. I was sad to see Wen Shuo part with Yuan Qing too. They've barely had screen time but I ship them. 😭
👏👏👏 Applause for Gong Jun and Reba's acting during emotional scenes. I feel their heartbreak and longing…
Literally had me tearing up with them. They were smiling on the outside but dying on the inside. They're both trying to face the reality of things but it's more painful repressing it. 😢😢
BTW did anyway else get a sense of dread watching every scene that Anning was in? Like from the moment she went…
Ok. I thought it was just me. The ending of Ep.31 when she FINALLY found out it was Mo Bei had me eye rolling hard. I understand she trusted him but why did it take this long for her to pick up on any of the clues. Smh. Right when she gets good, it's a bye for us.
bro if anle don’t want hanye, i will happily take him
Sign me up too! I'll happily take him as a confidant. He may talk in circles but at least he gets the big picture and will consider all details with me.
Looking forward to watching the latest eps tonight. I did skim through it and was a bit baffled as to why they…
I understand as I was also thinking LMX didn't have to feel that way. When you do watch it later, my take on it is that he's been anti- Han Ye most of the show and him finding out what Han Ye did was an eye opener to get LMX to understand him better. He's been stunning LMX in the recent episodes with all the abrupt change in behavior. So although, LMX may think he knows Han Ye well, he's actually on the same boat as everyone else.
Did you watch the trailer for 31? Reasoning for war is reasonable but I wonder how it got to that point.
Yeah I didn't read it either but I think someone mentioned it before and the opening credit had her next to a blind Han Ye so I just assumed. 😅 Lol! Xianxia style invincibility!
