30-ish episodes update spoiler free review: And.... START! 1. as usual, MORE THOMAS. MORE BLIND UNCLE. 2. So episodes 20-26 ish I found a bit draggy, (missing action, a lot pf political court talking stuff), but it picked back up. This is just a personal nitpick, since I'm not someone that can sit through scene after scene where everyone is just sitting and talking. 3. GOD THE STORY IS SO GOOD (even the boring talky parts). I'm sorry, but the entire plot just so engaging and it's been a while since I felt so much emotion towards a series. 4. I'm just gonna keep praising the music. 5. Great acting. Great cinematography. 6. FOR ONCE THE SISTER CHARACTER DOESN'T ANNOY ME. She's probably one of my favourite characters tbh.
Romance is not very strong, at least not for the first 10 episodes, so I don't think it's fair to have that.
Romance in the show so far has been pretty much non-existent. 16 episodes in. I don't expect episode 17 or 18 to have much romance either. Sadly, the slow romance is gonna be really, really slow for you romance lovers~
Because Chinese communism said : "this is too entertaining, you citizens got to remember life isn't that exciting, therefore, we will remove all interesting things to air for 100 days"
"He is a former Trainee from SM Entertainment." As much as I love XZL, was he really an SM Entertainment trainee? I remember reading articles claiming this was fake.
I only pressed because I thought the girl on the poster is Yang Zi (the girl from Ashes of Love & Go Go Squad!)…
I just can't put my finger on it. She just seems so cringy but I don't know why. Like is it a bad script? Since I feel like anyone having to do those would have done it like her... yet it's still so annoying to watch.
Spoiler Free Lightning round early review! and... start! 1. m o r e L i x i a n 2. good watch so far. cinematography is nice, so is the acting and plot. 3. I recommend if you like Wuxia levels in between Joy of Life and Ever Night. 4. k I don't think I've expressed this enough but I ACTUALLY LOVE THE SHOW 5. The only thing that's been bothering me a decent amount so far are the costumes. They don't look cheap, and they do look very authentic, but some of them are just unpleasing to the eye IMO. I found myself starring at a costume I had a distaste for and zoning out on it.
Mid Season Spoiler Free Review!: 1. Hmm... plot holes started to appear. They aren't anything major, but they can be so easily solved to the point that it may drive the viewers insane 2. Zhang Ruo Yun is so damn talented. 3. I need more Thomas :( 4. The OST is just so good. I can't skip the opening or the ending. It simply captivates
Overall, it's going on a steady pace, and my interest is still picked! There simply are some weird decisions being executed sometimes, but it doesn't remove from the show unless you have major OCD.
Don't watch it for Xiao Zhan. He barely show up in it. If you're gonna ever watch this, watch it for Leo, or the…
That's fine too. Just saying don't expect much Xiao Zhan~ This was filmed in his earlier days so he wasn't really recognised or very good at acting at that time (of course he's gotten better).

Yea, going well. Can't wait for more! :D
I'll still watch it though, see what happens.
THE BLIND UNCLE CAN NOT BE FORGOTTEN >:(
Honestly I have enjoyed the recent episodes, but not as much as the earlier ones where there was more action.
Bring back Uncle Wu, he brings actions wherever he goes :D
I swear his "Blind Uncle" character is my favourite and he doesn't get enough scenes aufhkszuyferdgk
