those initial performances are pretty boring for me and I can see why they skipped some of them. I skipped the first 3 episodes and went directly to stage 2. Then I went and searched for the initial performances of the trainees I care about.

is it just me or the last 2 episodes got really weird with too many boring speeches? felt like the script writer for the first 40 episodes just quit. Still worth watch.

I agree. She look out of place in this drama. I mean, I love the actress and think she is one of the prettiest. But the roles I like her in are all mature and strong roles. She seems really out of character playing a clumsy innocent fangirl.

Sad that it's more about popularity then talent. A lot of the top picks doesn't have any ability and a lot of the girls with real talent got eliminated.

I just pretended ep9-12 never happened. Also, this drama would make more sense if you watch Detective Chinatown movies

1. Haitang Duo Duo - she's a smart badass independent women
2. Second prince - his weird cocky scheming attitude is so perfect for his character
3. Fan Xian - he's a great main character. don't think I need to say more
4. Wang Qi Nian - love his facial expressions
5. Grand Princess - the crazy psycho laugh

Honorable mention: Second prince's mother - she only had one scene but it was so funny I watched it 5 times

this was a low budget offering by historical drama standards. the issues you pointed out are simply because the production team didn't have the resources.

ya. also those people who built a ship for Asule and Yu Ran in the beginning. Watching that shipwreck is infuriating as well.

Imagine how sad Asule will be when he goes back for Xiaozhou after defending the north and finds out...
