My thoughts exactly! It sounds way too serious but this was an awakening 😂 I'm in the process of learning to drop after one episode when I'm not feeling it. I've waisted a lot of my time watching shows that are not worth it (including this one). Quality over quantity.

Great is such an interesting character. He is appeasing in a way that I can't explain. He carries a lot of sadness too. I find him particularly unsettling and touching.

If you don't know about it, look up the terrible reason that put an end to the Japanese reality TV show Terrace House a few years back: The Boyfriend is almost a perfect copy of Terrace House (except that Terrace House = straight people). Terrace House was definitely staged and there seem to be instances where the cast felt pressured to do things by staff. I would not be surprised if it was the case with The Boyfriend. And that's why I'm not very comfortable with the format.

As some commented, the age gap is indeed around 22-25 years. And I understand why that would make some people uncomfortable. But the actor playing P'Khiao is in his early 30s and that's what is truly misleading. He should look around 40-45 years old if there was actual consistency with the dates given throughout the show. I fear that if he did look 40-45 y-o, more people would feel uncomfortable. So either the showrunners are really bad at math or they purposefully chose to "hide" the age gap by casting someone who looks younger. It would have been so easy to minimize the age gap in the scenario...

This was a painful but necessary episode! Now...another long and excruciating week waiting for the next episode starts 😭

Is it me or did they completely bailed on the "poisoned dart killing Yeon Wol" twist in the last episode? It's heavily implied that she's dying but then...she's not and everyone's happy, yay. What a waste...
