I saw a video of Marcus here yesterday. He told us something very interesting: The author of the drama responded to the compliants about the bad ending and explained that she (or he) actually provided a happy ending but the production decided against it saying it was too costly to make (weird). Anyway, the auther also said there may be an animated version with a happy ending and there are talks about a season 2 of the drama too. for once, I really like to see the female lead falls for the second male lead.The male lead is too rigid, he refused her once, let her be now.

Didn't know it was dropped yesterday, what a pleasant surprise. I have come to know the female lead in "journey to love", followed her in "the perfect match". I like her a lot. I Thought this drama would be a comedy at first, but the storyline has headed to a different direction quickly to my delight. Hope this drama will glue me to the couch, need to place my head somewhere else after the sad ending of "the demon Hunter's romance.

The ending is why I hesitate to watch every time a drama by Allen Ren airs. I keep telling myself it is okay, it is not going to make me feeling sad, again, like last time, and yet, it is not okay this time , it makes me sad, again. So I am going to pin a big poster in my room saying "don't watch Allen Ren, again".

just check in to say the dishes are out of the world, they make me feel so so hungry. The storyline flows nice and steady, not a s+ drama or anything but enjoyable. I hate to say this but the male lead, aside not having an eye catching face, he is stiff, literally like a piece of rod, the only thing good about him is his diction and voice, but then he is dubbed. I think he needs to go back to school to learn this profession if he wants to remain an actor.

OMG, strongly advise everyone not to watch this drama with an empty stomach, you would want to eat the dishes right out from the screen!!! So good!!.

have been looking for a period drama to watch in wait for one of those s+ dramas to air. Bumped into this just now, since I have seen the female lead before, am giving it a try as she is a capable actress. However, must say the male lead is so not eye catching... hope he won't disappoint in his acting skills.

I haven't got around to watch this on Netflix yet in all this time, came here to see what folks say about it to decide whether it iis worthy of a dive into a 20 episode drama. You have definitely convinced me. Thank you!

As far as I know, the script isn't out there yet, no cast confirmation, let alone airing date.

There are several reasons why this drama fails to glue me to the couch.First it is about starting the drama with going back to the past for so many episodes. Honestly who can feel invested in the past for so long? Then it is the limited content, investment and investment talks over and over again. Lastly but definitely not the least, the performance of the female lead, there are plenty of actresses in the Chinese drama lands, but only a few who actually deliver lines with so little feelings and with always the same stoney, facial expressions.If I were Arthur Chan or his agent, I would steer clear from her in the future.

Came back to say that Joy of Life has ruined me for good, there is no other drama, not one that can glue me to the couch as Joy of life, I actually feel bored at some point with all other series I have watched in the recent time. This can't go one, please come soon Joy of life 3.. I have been watching S1 and 2 so many times that I can even remember the lines...OMG...

a weak storyline, more than half of the drama based on the past, why bother to shoot the present day in the first episode? The acting skills of the female lead is so mechanical even in delivering her lines. What a waste of talent like the male lead.

Indeed, I do not feel invested in the characters, not in what they do or say. The script and directing could have been better.

I feel the pacing of the drama a bit slow and the interactions between characters quite flat, as if the dialogues, the momentums are not engaging, exciting enough. There are dramas that practically glued me to the couch being one big Chinese dramas fan, but this is not one of those. But hey, I am here also for the mean leads, success of dramas cannot solely depend on the cast, the story, screen script, directing, editing and cinematography are all necessary ingredients.

🤪🤪 indeed, most titles are made up with limited vocabulary and often repetitive , I don't think it is for lack of knowledge as there are plenty of scholars well versed in both Chinese and English languages, probably they are not consulted, consultation does have a cost 😉.

I get really tired of watching dramas that keep taking me back to watch the past, flash backs, a few moments are okay but episodes after episodes are just too much. Plus the performance of the female lead is just as disappointing as in the dramas she has made so far, both period and modern. Her acting skills are perfunctory, her dictions are mechanical, as if reading from scripts in hand. I am sorry, but am giving this drama a skip.
