you are right. I hate the classic trope of separation, misunderstanding, and I hated ep.30 when he didn't give her enough time to explain, and then straight to writing the divorce document. But what comes right afterwards showing his pains, then efforts to understand better have made me realise that he really needed to go thru the process in order to standby her forever in the truest sense, overcoming his own personal loss

it really pains me when he didn't give her the chance to explain why she said her mother was cheated to take the edict from his brother. It is total blindness and unjust to stop her from talking any further, him playing the sole injured part and sentenced the end of their marriage with a written separation. I have watched ep 31, he got drunk and cried, calling out for his wife as if he were the most loving husband on earth. Then the desperate search for her brother in the brothel for explanations. I literally think her brother gave him a too easy pass, he should have told him in details her sufferings and immense efforts to help him and to restore his family honour.Then how she and her mother suffered from the Li family. Then what he saw with his own eyes the destruction, desolation of Li Shan academy in the mountain..

I find the screenplay of The First Jasmine very captivating, a fluid storytelling well sequenced and presented, contrary to Rebirth that has totally disappointed me.

I truly like the the screenplay of this drama, so well written, sequenced, presented and directed. A formidable cast, the 📽️, costumes. I am totally captured by all of it. We are approaching the final stage now and I haven't the faintest idea what to look forward to when it ends..

indeed, it happens in most dramas, lack of clarity giving way to otherwise avoidable situation..

it has a very consistent storyline, rich but not messy nor superficial. The entire cast is well selected, together under the directing of a thoughtful, thorough and experienced director, they delivered an awesome product ion.

having watched ep.31 and previews up to ep34, I think it is safe to say that the pacing, spread of events of this drama are well written and planned, the ending won't be all jammed and packed in the last viewing hour, as we mostly see in other dramas.

He went as a special ambassador appointed by the Dowager to pacify with the LiShan academy, this is a way of the Dowager to play the "benevolent" card, little did she know that the everyone up in the academy died years ago

she needs to pay for her sins. She had the Marquis did all the dirty work for her to succeed to power, and to repay him, she let him rob the country, trade arms with enemies.

For me watching 31 was a relief, at least their relationship is on the mend with him understanding her sufferings. Ep 32 is part of the progrss, but ep.31 is the turning point fof what happened in ep.30.

watched ep.31, unbelievable how the thirst of power is above all, the young king dares to doubt MXY wanting to leave his post in search of his wife. He has clearly explained that they have quarrelled and how he wants to find her and to make peace with her, yet the king sees danger, unbelievable

that's also true, he suffered worse injuries. Guess we'll just have to wait to find out.

so there is a Chinese video posted by a YouTuber who sustains the death of the princess is staged by herself as she wanted to find out who are behind the plot of waging war between two countries. By staging, she let the assignation took place. While I'd like to think she is not dead, but I fail to understand how she can survive from a real blow of knife to her heart.

I held off from watching ep 29 and 30, but with ep 31 on air today, I think I am in a good spot to watch all 3 episodes in one go, as ep 31 will, judging from previews, path the way to penance from MXY and reconciliation. I am going to enjoy the scene in which MXY being grapped by Yl's "brother", biting his head off because of what he did to her (preview in ep.31)

Cdramas seldom deliver steamy kissing or love scenes, it is a matter of tradition and culture, let alone in a period drama.
