The folks standing under the wall were there to bid farewall to XQ army as they were grateful to XQ. In fact the lady serving food outside the wall said it is impossible for XQ to have assassinated the king as he treated people well. XQ followed the royal guards to the burial ground, killed them and vowed revenge, to clear their names.

The girl was the one who wanted to offer wine to Ziao Qi, but Awu did not give him permission to drink it since it would mean allowing him to take the girl as lover. The man was the one who walked up to drink the wine instead. They got married , then captured by Hulan and have been slaves for 3 three years. He labors as a cook while she serves Awu.

Yes, it is really painful to see the king actually ordered the queen to die with him. As regards the fights, I guess The king went along with the plan to kill Xiao Qi because the queen persuaded him to do so. As to the reason why the Helan prince was there, I think he was tipped off by the third prince, and it was the third prince who found out about the children, too. Remember the scene when the body guard of Awu followed Xiao Qi to the house where the children were? While he was following Ziao Qi, he himself was being followed by a woman who had her face covered, she must be working for the third prince. I am up to episode 51, the suspense is too great and painful. I find the production did a wonderful job in casting, every major role is assigned to just the right person, the main leads are superb in the respective roles, they are great together. Their real age does not affect at all the story, in fact it is their experience in the profession and individual talent that put extra value to this drama.
A great drama, a splendid cast. Zhou Yi Wei, the main male lead is awesome, a very talented actor paired with a very talented actress Zhang Zi Yi, what a joy to watch them.
This is a top notch drama, the cast, the story, the cinematography, the directing, the actions, the script, the costumes, I can't think of one thing I don't like it.
