Dong Kyu really seems like trash based on how he treated Nozomi, at the same time this is heavily scripted and edited. Playing Devil's advocate, what if he wasn't that into her since the beginning, he just thought he was being nice and Nozomi misinterpreted and feel for him fast. They seemed inseparable in the beginning but Nozomi also felt kinda clingy if you think about it. And the show's editing made it seem like it was reciprocated. And when somebody caught his eye he was cold to her to discourage her feelings. Then again, he might really be this horrible. I don't know, it's hard to take the show at face value.
Trying to figure out if Honoka is also as horrible as they show her. She was so dismissive of Won Shik then after he took her rejection like a champ and moved on she changed her tune and started pursuing him not taking a hint.
Overall I was really disappointment over how weak the guys are as actors. What Tae-gyun is doing cant's be called acting at all and he also seems kinda creepy due to his off facial expressions, Dong Kyu is so stiff and monotone, he doesn't use his face muscles almost at all, the only reason he might have gotten roles is because he's handsome in a typical K-drama kind of way. Undecided on Won Shik he is is so-so, he could improve with popper coaching and he does act with his eyes more, which I like. There are some sparks in Song Ji Hyuk but he's also quite stiff, though this might have to do with possible damage to muscles due to cosmetic interventions.
I'm not a fan of Hanako's acting but Rio, Ayano and Nozomi are quite good overall. Nozomi seems sweet and kind but she's really unprofessional and takes everything so personally. It's clear she has insecurities galore and she's not handling it well. She's an open book in front of everyone and that can't be good when you have to work in the industry. Hanako is both a weak actor and unprofessional too with her crying all the time as well. I know it's a cultural thing but it's off-putting to see grow women crying non-stop and being so child-like. I much prefer Rio and Ayano.
I'm on cloud nine to be honest because I adore the manga, it's my favourite and I couldn't be happier with the casting and acting. I feel like I'm going to rewatch this over and over.
I feel relieved to see somebody else mentioning this. I enjoyed the first episodes but I was mostly swept away by the hype around this series the first time I watched it. On the rewatch I struggled with episodes 6-12. One of the reasons was the weird skinship that was mostly them teasing each other or wrestling, bickering which was meant in a flirty way but came out more as brotherly. I was thinking am I the only one finding it weird that they never had a proper kiss after their first one? It was all sniffing and such.
Unfortunately, this wasn't as good for me on the rewatch. The first 5 episodes are great despite being rushed and the show peaked at episode 5. The scene on the roof holds up. Though on the rewatch I was annoyed by how quickly Pat switched from liking Ink to liking Pran, it was very jarring. And then I never really understood Pran's behaviour after episode 5.
Their cutesy moments afterwards were a little meh because of their constant bickering which was too middle-school. It was mostly a bromance, at least from Pran's behaviour. It would've been fun if were balanced by more wholesome non-bickering moments. Episode 11 attempted that but I was already fed up with the story by that point. The way their relationship got exposed in front of the school was not a great moment, the dramatic element was too forced.
Not to mention them pretending to break up to appease their completely irrational family feud, the last episode was a complete disappointment.
It's a shame because the ML's chemistry is so strong in the beginning but if I'm even due a rewatch I'll stop at episode 5.

The characters are almost all horrible people. The ML and FL aren't horrible, but they're a mess too, annoying dummies. The only lovable character is her son, Pil Goo. He's so smart and protective of his mother and doesn't take any BS from adults. In an early episode, he cries because he's tired of always having to defend her and I agree with him. Ma'am, grow a pair and stop letting your 7-year-old boy fight your battles.
Dong Baek could've been a good character but somebody seriously messed up in her portrayal, not sure if it was the director or if Gong Hyo Jin is just not a good actress. She's always so mousy when those horrible neighbours hurl the most outrageous accusations at her. I would've wiped the floor with them if they talked to me like that.
SY two-timing is really putting me off this drama. Their chemistry is nice but he really seems like he has no backbone when he won't break it off for good with his gf and face his parents. HJ should not even talk to him until he gets his shit together.
