I'm so tired of the teacher-student trope, it's gross. Sure, here she hasn't been his teacher for 5 years but I still don't wanna see that dynamic. The boys were so immature, Dan was so immature. I don't mind gaps as long as the people involved don't think and act too far apart, but in this case, it was just no, she was like a mother figure.
At the same time, the concept of idols is so stupid. It's like they're basically slaves to the band, its image, and the management company. They can't do anything on their own, they don't get to have dreams, and they can't date like normal people, and for what? So brainless fangirls don't feel betrayed?
I mean how sick can you be to think you can dictate whom an entertainer is dating? As long as they're in an adult, consensual relationship why is it anybody's business? The members of these boybands are in prison but they also get to perform on stage because got forbid fans will see something they don't like so management teams get to control every tiny aspect of their lives. It's so sad and I can't support this.
I'm starting to like their interactions. I like the ML actually, I don't think he's boring, he's very smart and sweet. However, for a romance series, there are so few scenes with them. 90% of an episode is wasted on other characters and her at work which is very unbalanced. I really dislike it when a series is pitched with romance at the center and the lead barely see each other. They don't need to be lovey-dovey, it's just nice to see them spend time together, interact, and communicate.
Really excited to see a mainstream GL show but I'm not a fan of the "I've been obsessed with you since I was a child trope". I will try to get passed it and enjoy it for what it is though.
That's it. I can't take it anymore. Dongfang is amazing but Orchid Fairy is unbearable. I thought, just have patience,…
P.S. Last episodes were quite amazing, so much emotion and I did indeed root for them to be together. This is probably the only drama that managed to get me from "I want to drop" this into "I'm obsessed with this, I need to watch it again!"
