Totally agree with you! This drama is a slice of life🖤 I don't know why people expect too much from this! I…
I kinda understood Yang Hua wanting to step back but it might just be me that feels like both leads have shown numerous times how much they love each other. It's very common in asian culture to not say it with words but through your actions. So I find it odd that there were doubts. Qin Shi I can understand her doubts because Yao Yao, the kid, not being sure who Yang Hua was helping in the lawsuit.
It seems like the ending was Yang Hua's intention. Yao Yao asked him what if their planned backfired and he said he has it planned out. So he was most likely hoping Qin Shi would have her realization but if not, he already knew how he felt and wants to be with her regardless. So after he made enough to afford his own place, he decides to live right across from her to give her just enough space to not feel pressured =)
This was a great drama with so many amazing elements; a fierce FL, a perfect ML simp, likable supporting characters, in addition to powerful messages about women and relationships. So many occasions I had to keep guessing so it wasn't a set formula which is fantastic! I'm bummed it's over because I'll have to find my next fix.
On MGTV, there is a paid 3minute bonus of them in the modern world! No subs though. I think. https://twitter.com/jareviewseries/status/1581530255025614848?s=46&t=fZPzF3yA9mjh28wihWKlhQ
It’s actually the movie the leads starred in “ My Queen of Capricious”.
Not to be a fan of the villain but I thought that the character of King Ning was so attractive, the actor really…
I agree, he had his moments. The first was when he yelled at the brothel workers for hiring underage girls. The second was when he fell for Shi Qi and asked her about her likes and hobbies. For me it's rare to find redeeming qualities in an antagonist.
This drama was everything! An absolute gem. How has it not blown up? It has all the things spice, comedy, smarts, plot twists and keeps you wanting more. Kudos to all parties involved!
Angry dropped at ep 8. I pushed through despite disliking the FL for the sake of the ML and after just a fraction into the drama, I couldn't take the rinse and repeat behaviors of the characters/story anymore. I've never rage commented on a series that I dropped but damn if I could bitch slap the person that recommended this. Such a waste of time! The high rating is also inconceivable.
The drama has its flaws but I'm glad I pushed through the FL's voice/character. The story was really good and as of today, it has my vote for best cdrama of 2022 =)
I just finished ep 31 and I think I missed something. So Qingcang wanted Orchid to stop loving him so that the bone orchid can be broken and save her life but then why would he tell Xuncheng that he's willing to sacrifice Orchid and told him to have her stab herself with the Chengying sword?
If the answer is in future eps, just let me know without spoilers please.

They SO should’ve kept the conversation between the leads in ep 2! Tianyi is ridic, bringing up Yuze and getting mad for his own comparison 😂
Now, I know for sure no 7.6 rated drama has ever created the thirst and buzz like Maid’s Revenge did! Haters are messed up 🤨
