7.5 / 10 I liked this drama a lot, but didn't love it entirely. The acting, cinematography, and the score was top notch. It had such a classic feel to it, but there was something about the writing that was both a hit and miss for me. It was an interesting premise and set up, with some deep and powerfully written moments that moved me but some of the things that happened were too casual / convenient. I just wish it was written better in some parts because this drama had the potential to be a fantastic one overall. Also, to experience a love so unconditional and pure like theirs... Yamada Yuki and Nagano Mei were exceptional together. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to watch a classic romance.
That's where I think differently. An actor's job is to act, singer's to sing, and we should be inspired by their craft and not their personal life. So I don't understand how and why people idolise them for things that are not related to their craft. What do we even know about them to hold them in such high regard?
I don't believe in cancel culture but to each their own really. Not a fan of cheating either but I see it day in and out in the work I do so I guess I'm a little used to it, though I don't approve of it.
Mari had dissociative identity disorder. The twist is that there was no soul swapping at all.She had various personalities.…
But she's also the one who fingered Isao. So I do think there was a part of her that got attracted to Isao in the process and was also trying to be a normal heterosexual, though I definitely agree that the dominant part of her personality was a lesbian. It's tricky because all her personalities (like in the case of DID) took a form of their own so you can't know for sure what her motivations with Isao were, but my interpretation is that it was a mixture of confusion and conforming to the norm.
Her shame over being a lesbian caused further dissociation but her dissociation started when she was a kid when her identity was wiped away by her mother. Usually DID is rooted in childhood trauma.
